What you'll do

The Blue Ridge Parkway is 469 miles long with tons of options for pictures, views, trails and more; we want to help you make the most of your trip, get some incredible pictures and add good bit of history and knowledge. We will start in Waynesville, NC [at 9AM] and make four stops along the MOST BEAUTIFUL PART of the Blue Ridge Parkway. First stop is a 50+ foot water fall for some awesome pictures. For those who are feeling adventurous there is a short hike about 100 yards to the bottom. Next we stop at Waterrock Knob Lookout, where we will have some of the best views in North Carolina and can see from the East and West. [Bathroom break too!]. From there we will drive over 6000 feet into the Balsam Range, stop for a short walk and some snacks at Grassy Ridge Mine overlook. Lastly we will make one more stop at the highest point on the Parkway for a great photo op. All along the tour you will learn about the area, the rich history, the flora, wildlife and so much more. We might even throw in some other recommendations for food/drink while you are staying in this great area. Depending on time we may get to stop one more time at the waterfall! After our last stop we will return to Waynesville, NC where you can begin your own Adventures
Other things to note
This does not require much hiking - more viewing & short walks. It's the most beautiful part of the BlueRidgeParkway so we will stop & take time for lots of photos too. We provide snacks & drinks. Because of current state of Covid in NC, you will be required to drive your own vehicle and follow me.

My name its Greg & I am a licensed local Guide [with the USFS] who not only lives in these great Blue Ridge Mountains, but loves them too. As owner of a professional Guiding company - it's our goal to make your tour time with us one of the most memorable parts of this trip. I have lived in this area for over 10 years, am outside just about every day! I have hiked, backpacked, kayaked, fished, biked, run, swam, and camped all over these great mountains. I guide every week of the year and want you to see some of the areas that people don't normally get to see. Being outside and guiding all the time has allowed me to learn so much the region, where to go, the secret places and what makes it so fantastic. It's so spectacular and never gets old. Come see what makes it so great - and lets create some long lasting memories.

Hanging out with Greg on this tour was totally awesome and a blessing! Even though he was quite professional, we really connected with him. I felt as though I’d known him for a long time. He has a great sense of humor, so he had us laughing all the way. At the 6,000 ft. level, it was rainy, chilly, windy, and heavily foggy, but the poor weather condition wasn’t in the least a bother to him. He confidently guided the tour with great ease. I felt quite safe in his care. In my opinion, that kind of less-than-desirable weather added to my adventure, and the beauty and unpredictability of nature came shine throughout it all. At the 5,000 ft. and below levels, we were able to see the miles of breathtaking Fall foliage in the distance. I was in awe of it all: fog and foliage alike! Greg is quite knowledgeable about the history of the region and so we were thoroughly schooled. He answered all our questions and curiosities. He even used his professional camera to take some really nice photos of us which he gave to us. He had all kinds of goodies for us, like chocolate, granola bars, popcorn, chips, crackers and cheese, cookies, apples, bananas, sodas, water, etc. These snacks, fruits, sodas, and water were nicely displayed in baskets lined with tea cloths which were laid out on a plaid tablecloth in the trunk of his vehicle. Picnic comes to mind. Right? Oh my goodness! The thoughtfulness. Such a really nice touch! I had a lot of fun! I’ve already been sharing this amazing experience with family and friends. I’m looking forward to another tour with Greg. Hehe!
