What you'll do

Guests are welcomed into our barn where there will be a short explanation about how to safely interact with our goats. Guests will be accompanied into our goat pen to spend their time surrounded by 19 goats! Guests are often surprised at how friendly our girls are!! Goats are friendly, funny, curious creatures who are smart and capable of learning their names and routines, they are kinda like dogs! And every spring there will be a lot of GOAT BABIES to play with!!!!!! There is plenty of room to sit on the sleeping benches in our pen so you can spread out and enjoy your goat therapy session. Feel free to ask questions, we love to talk about our goats and share what we have learned through our experience in owning these amazing creatures. You are welcome to take photos and share them in your social media posts, if you know how please tag our farm! We can’t wait for you to join us on the farm, meet our goats and let us show you why we love them so much! Trust me, you’ll be glad you did!!! See you soon!!

Other things to note:
1. Non-alcoholic beverages are provided
2. Goats like to taste things, please consider wearing long hair up and no dangling earrings.
3. No pets please unless you require a service animal and then please notify the farm so accommodations can be made.
4. There are no bathrooms in the barn.

Hello, we are John and Dorothea Sperry! I am a Registered nurse and he is a Facilities Director for The YMCA. We established our farm in 2016 out in the middle of farm country in beautiful Washington County in Upstate NY. Our farm is only an hour's drive from Albany International Airport! We have been raising goats since 2017, we started with 2 and we now have 23! In 2018 we decided to start a small business handcrafting goat milk skin care products that are available to shop during our experience. Money earned helps support our goat herd in many ways including grain, hay and infrastructure. Our farm is our happy place and our goats are our pride and joy and we want to share all of them with you!! Please visit our farm and immerse yourself for an hour in our barn with these wonderful animals, it's so relaxing! Thank you, John & Dorothy

Where you'll be

This experience will be held in our barn located on our farm. The barn is currently undergoing a full restoration and the lower portion of the barn is the first area to be mostly complete. There is also a nice fenced in area where the goats play that guests would also be able to go in weather permitting

This was incredibly fun for both our kids and for us. The hosts were kind and gracious. They provided a ton of information on all of the goats and life on the farm. It was a really special and memorable trip. The hot chocolate was a nice addition on a very cold day!

This is well worth the trip! A fun afternoon. Dorotheaa and John put a lot of thought and care into making a visit to their goat family special.

This was super fun! Only issue was that “drinks” in the description was misleading. Drinks are non-alcoholic and we thought it was alcohol, haha. We loved the goats though!

This was a great experience! The goats were so cuddly and friendly, just as I was hoping! Dorothea was extremely knowledgeable in the maintenance, upkeep and all relevant or irrelevant fun facts of goats! She shared all of this information with us as we snuggled with goats which made for an interesting experience! She also had goat milk products available for purchase. 10/10 would recommend!

We had a wonderful time cuddling with the goats and Dorthea was a wealth of information and gladly answered all our questions about those adorable goats. I highly recommend for a lift in your spirits!

My husband and I had a great time visiting the goats while on our Baby Moon Vacation in Saratoga. It was a bit out of the way but a great visit to see and interact with the baby goats. The location is tough to find, even with GPS but we had a great hour of some much needed goat therapy. Purchased some homemade goat milk soap as well!
