What you'll do
Join me at 9:45 in the morning for a cup of coffee at Whole Foods. At 10:15 we'll be off to look at the archeological dig at the MetSquare development to unearth Tequesta Indian structures. We will walk to the Brickell Avenue Bridge to snap photos of the statue "Tequesta Family" after all, we should all aim for the skies! We will walk to the Brickell City Center and go in to take a look at the architecture, the climate ribbon and talk about shopping and dining. But we won't have much time for shopping so we'll hop on a metromover from BCC and make our way to Olympia Theater. Olympia Theater was the first building in all of the South to have an air conditioner, can you imagine? We will then walk over to the Freedom Tower. In the 1960's this building, which was then the tallest in all of Miami, but more importantly, it was the refugee center for Cubans fleeting Communist Cuba. Depending on weather and soreness of feet, we will decide whether to take the metromover or walk to Perez Art Museum (PAM). Once we are at PAM we can grab some light lunch, sit on the steps and share stories over lunch… Then we can go into full swing mode, on huge big swings! All along, we'll hunt down some public art! Let's see if you can spot any, maybe you will be sitting on some? We will conclude our tour in the Historic Gesu Museum where we will light a candle and wish each other well!
Candles for each guest :)
Having lived in 3 different continents, I like to think of myself as a world citizen. Yet, I am "Miamian by choice." It’s the mix here, the phenomenal people you meet in everyday life, from all over the world that make it such a wondrous place to live. I love to share my passion for this city because there's just so much more to Miami than just the world-famous weather and beaches. Here in Miami, there are endless possibilities for entertainment and exploration from world-class shopping, dining, arts, and culture; Miami has something to offer for everyone. As a Realtor who works with clientele from many different countries and states, it is part of my daily job to paint the picture of the city. A little bit of history, some engaging stories, a tad bit of real estate gossip and lots of walking and talking are what you can expect!
Where you'll be
Along the way, we will look at the buildings and talk about the different architects. Even Zaha Hadid's last masterpiece sits in Downtown Miami. And who knows, maybe we will get to take a peek at the Aston Martin Vulcan, a $2.3 million dollar beauty!
