What you'll do

One of our guides (Chris, Jenna, Raven, Charlie, Hannah, or Matt) will get you checked in right when you arrive to allow for the most possible time on the water! Once you're all checked in, we'll give some basic paddle instructions and information about the tour ahead. We'll get you loaded up into your tandem clear kayak and off we go! The paddle will last about 2 hours depending on the speed of our group and any wildlife we may see along the way. We will be sure to take plenty of pictures and give some awesome unique facts about the area on our several picturesque stopping points!

There will even be a couple chances for you to get out and explore Florida's unique marine habitats! The first half of the paddle will be along side of the beautiful mangroves with our first stop being a mangrove tunnel (tide permitting) , the second half will be a paddle across the blue waters to Shell Key where we will take time to enjoy the pristine sandbars and beach, finally we will paddle along the wildlife sanctuary to catch a glimpse of some native coastal birds! Be ready for lots of great local nature and wildlife along the way!

Being born and raised in Florida, I've always had an appreciation for nature - specifically the ocean. Spending more than 20 years in the Tampa Bay area, I've swam and interacted with just about all marine life imaginable; it gave me an incredible appreciation for the beauty below the water. Being a Girl Scout, EMT, lifeguard, and now physician assistant this gives me the unique ability to combine all the things I love into one experience.

Which is why I decided to bring Get Up And Go Kayaking to Tampa Bay! Clear kayaking allows you to have an immersive perspective on the unique wildlife and nature we have here in Florida - I like to think of it as having the best window seat to the waters of Tampa Bay!

Matt was our guide and had some really great information while traveling through the mangroves to shell key beach. We collected shells and even seen a dolphin and some baby sharks. We finished the trip at the restaurant and a beautiful sunset. What a perfect day.

So amazing, informative and beautiful! Chris was an awesome guide and gave us incredible knowledge about the preserve. You need to experience this kayaking adventure! I highly recommend it. The see-through kayaks made it unique and the stop at Shell Key was so beautiful. We got a bunch of shells to take home. They give you bags for shells and a waterproof bag for your belongings. The wildlife was abundant including a huge dolphin!

Chris was amazing! Very knowledgeable and great tour guide. He answered all of our questions, And tried to make the tour the best he could. He offered to take many photos, and really helped us capture the experience and bring home the memories. I would highly recommend this tour to others. I know it is the winter season, so high tide is still pretty low, but I wish we would’ve been able to go through more man groves. The one we did get to go through was pretty amazing though. 😄
