What you'll do

Rio de Janeiro Estate has the second-highest number of Niemeyer projects, just behind Brasília, and we’ll see many of his designs throughout our journey. We’ll start off at the Copacabana boardwalk and will visit some of the city’s icons of modern architecture, including the Aterro do Flamengo and MAM—the Museum of Modern Art ( From Roberto Burlemax and Eduardo Reidy). From there, we’ll visit the area of Niterói, where we’ll see the group of constructions known as the Niemeyer Path (From Oscar Niemeyer). We’ll stop for a coffee at the bistro in the Niterói Contemporary Art Museum (MAC), a Niemeyer building, where we are going to visit the exhibition. We’ll finish at the Ferry Station.

I’m an architect who loves to travel, taste good food, and meet new people. I founded a project that joins these three passions, called Architectour. In its first edition, I focus on Oscar Niemeyer to bring an authentic view of Rio de Janeiro’s modern architecture to travelers interested in architecture, the arts, and beautiful views of Rio de Janeiro.

Adriana is not only very knowledgable about the sights but also sharing her enthusiasm for the architecture and the surroundings. She gives valuable information about Brazilian society and history and is simple very enjoyable. If you want to discover Niteroy, do it with Arianna. It can't be any better.

Adriana took me – that day I was the only person on the tour – to spectacular places, specially buildings by Oscar Niemeyer, and had very interesting things about Rio and Niterói to tell. I just can recommend this tour to anyone, how is keen on contemporary architecture.

I had a fantastic experience with Adriana. She’s is a very warm and knowledgeable person, wishing to share her architectural and cultural point of view on Rio. The tour felt very personal and Adriana was flexible according to my preferences. Highly recommended for going to Niterói Niemeyer route and museum, as it is very complicated to do individually.
