About your host

I’ve been teaching others how to work with clay for years. I love the feeling of clay in my hands and crafting cute artwork. My inspiration comes from the various representations of gods at the shrines in the form of humans and animals. I love to walk through historic shops and shrines in my spare time.

What we’ll do

Explore the concept of kawaii—Japanese for “cute” or “tiny”—from a unique perspective as we draw inspiration from Shinto shrines. I’ll teach you the correct behavior for shrine visits as we make our way around, seeking out cute or playful elements, such as the inu hariko dog at Suitengu. We will see seven lucky gods and, at Koami Shrine, the god you pray to for a good trip. Afterwards, we’ll…

Where you'll be

We will visit Suitengu Shrine to see the zodiac doll shown there. And also while walking to the space we do the clay work we pass by a shop that sell dog zodiac goods.
