What you'll do

In between the Kursaal Palace and the Mount Ulia it extends Gros, a cosmopolitan, dynamic neighbourhood that looks out over the Cantabric sea through Zurriola Beach and which has become one of the liveliest districts in town thanks to its many pintxos bars, terraces and charming shops. Being a food lover myself and after quite time observing u guys “the tourists” walking around trying to find the right place to eat, getting all the pintxos at once (OMG!) missing the good stuff! I had it clear i wanted to start this foodie adventure to share my particular view and give you the chance to live a refreshing, immersive experience to discover new tastes (yes!) and approach to the people, the place you're visiting and our culture that we so proudly keep alive, so for a couple of hours you’ll feel like an authentic basque! ;) I’ll take you to an unique gastronomic stroll on smells, tastes, textures and anecdotes to LIVE the real Basque Culture, eat and drink the best pintxos and wines that only an insider can show you ;) We will have a blast!
Did you know?? Donosti is the city with more Michelin Stars in Europe so it's not surprising to find a large number of pintxos bars spread around the city. You could easily pass by leaving the real gastronomic treasures out, but you don’t want to miss all that, do you? See you soon!

Hello!
I'm Val, designer by profession, traveler by soul and wine&foodie lover by passion and whim ;)
As a real food enjoyer I like to be in the vanguard and seek out the best food & beverage scene everywhere i go. I'm happy to share this passion with you and show you the authentic Donosti, giving you the insider's point of view, you'll have the chance to LIVE the Basque Culture like one of us. You won't pass here just like any-other tourist!

For many years i worked in Hospitality, including running my own bar. After, managed a small Hotel Boutique and stared to get involved with tourism. This experience allowed me to operate as Quality Manager for a couple of resto-bars. For the past 5 years I've been leading Gastro-Cultural Tours in town. Later i begun to collaborate with Interior Designe projects - which i love too!

Where you'll be

This is a gastro cultural tour, so for a couple of hours you'll venture in an immersive encounter to stroll around Gros district where we'll stop by in five of the most emblematic spots in the area merging our walk with degustation of the "matchless" pintxos and beverages of the chosen eateries, some historical taverns we've been enjoying for generations and the newest gourmet bars of my neighbourhood.

I really enjoyed the pintxos tour through Gros with Val! Sure, you will find pintxos everywhere. But will you then get the best quality? Will you order drinks you haven’t even heard of? Will you hear more about the history and further background of what you’re eating and drinking? Will you end up having drinks and conversations in a bar with only locals? Will you get a great recommendation + directions for a beautiful hike the next day? Don’t think so! This was not just a tour, this was having an evening with a (new) friend. Thanks, Val, for the great experience!

Val was fabulous! I thought the first pintxo was the best, and then the second and so the night went...By the end of the night, I simply wanted to cry as it was sooo good. Definitely do the tour with Val- it’s totally worth it!
