What you'll do

We'll begin our visit with a thoroughly Parisian experience: sitting down together over a coffee. We'll get to know each other and I'll give you an overview of three key aspects of our visit--the history of the neighbourhood, an introduction to some of the fin de siècle poets and writers who inhabited the neighbourhood, and finally talk about the English-speaking writers who called Paris home. Feel free to come with questions! Next we'll set out to explore some of the most charming streets in Paris, stopping along the way to see where a number of writers lived: Descartes, Hemingway, Paul Verlaine, Thomas Paine, Jean-Paul Sartre...You'll be able to read a passage of their work at each site. We'll also see important monuments such as the Pantheon, the Sorbonne and the Church of Saint Germain des Près.

Originally from the US, I have lived in Paris since 2013. I am currently writing a dissertation on the philosophy of Jean-Paul Sartre at the Sorbonne where I also did my third master’s degree. I also teach English in law firms as well as to other professionals. An inveterate traveller, art lover, bookworm, pianist, regular operagoer, budding philosopher, gastronome, wine connoisseur, history enthusiast, avid swimmer and general æsthete, my interests are many and varied but they all converge in one place: Paris. I love sharing that passion with visitors to Paris who are looking for a way to experience the city in a unique way and to discover the richness of its culture. That’s why I decided to create my first Airbnb experience a few years ago. I have enjoyed meeting so many interesting people since then and look forward to meeting you!
