About your host

I have been working in ceramics for over 10 years. I love it! Being a teaching artist has allowed me to share my love of ceramics with a variety of ceramic enthusiasts. I am currently an adjunct professor in ceramics and a community education instructor at Watkins College here in Nashville.

What we’ll do

Wheel throwing! This is a private pottery wheel throwing lesson. Learn the fun and artful benefits of throwing on the wheel. I have two wheels! Bring a friend! This lesson will focus on techniques specific to wheel throwing. We begin with an introduction to the studio, clay, and tools we'll be using. Then hop on the wheel! What else you should know

The studio has a kitchen so guests are welcome to bring their own drinks and snacks. The studio also has two restrooms so guests can change if they are going out after the lesson. Email blevinsceramics@gmail.com with any questions.

What I’ll provide

Creative supplies
Each guest will be provided with clay tools and supplies necessary for the pottery wheel; aprons, hand towels. Clay will also be provided up to 5 lbs. Most lessons on the wheel require less than 5 lbs., but additional clay can be purchased from the studio. BYOB or snack is welcome.

Where you'll be

The ceramic studio is located in Elephant Gallery, an art gallery and studio space in North Nashville. The gallery often displays national and international artists. That's what's so exciting about this visit and lesson! You get a chance to check out a small contemporary art gallery in Nashville and learn how to throw on the wheel!
