What you'll do
This is your call to adventure! Our ranch is nestled in the mountains above Napa Valley, dappled with oaks and redwoods. As you drive up the winding narrow roads, take in the fragrance of trees and notice the terraced vineyards along your journey. When you arrive, we’ll have light refreshments on the deck and you can tell me about your expectations, emotions, goals, or fears in regards to being around horses or learning about Reiki. This conversation will help me tailor your experience and choose the first guided meditation. We will walk down to meet the horses, let them come to us (which they will!) and begin our meditation.
With Kathleen Prasad’s Let Animals Lead® method of Reiki we do not put our hands on the horses until they request touch. After the opening meditation, I will guide you in your horsemanship goals. This could be haltering and grooming the horses, an equine bubble bath, or just spending time in their presence. Being around horses will make you feel incredible. Your time with the horses can be completely customized. Would you like to halter and lead the horse, ground drive, walk through obstacles together, or practice activities at liberty? These are all possible! To close our session we will return the horse to his paddock or pasture, then relax with a final meditation focusing on the peaceful heart-to-heart connection that was established today.

I am a retired public school teacher, meditator, dressage bronze medalist, musical freestyle rider, and certified teacher and practitioner of Kathleen Prasad’s Let Animals Lead® method of Reiki with animals. I am trained in the the "Mindful Schools" curriculum as well. I have always felt connected to animals, but the most significant part of my journey started in 2003 when I adopted and gentled a wild Mustang. The incredibly deep bond with my Mustang Yogi led me to learn Reiki with animals and bodywork for wellness. I have volunteered to practice Reiki and TTOUCH with elephants at "Friends of the Asian Elephant” in Thailand. I invite you to join me in the stable and pasture for a transformative experience with my small herd of gentle, wise horses. Each individual human is on a personal HERO'S JOURNEY, and I’d like to serve as your guide.

Where you'll be
Join me at Brioso Vineyard Stables on Mount Veeder. We are located off of a steep, winding road, at 2,680 feet. Our area is known for grapes grown on volcanic hillsides. All three of our horses have faced and overcome emotional and physical challenges. Meet gorgeous Pura Raza Espanola Andalusian (PRE) youngster Brioso, Mustang Yogi, our wise leader, and Lusitano Arteiro, the newest addition to our herd.

The location felt heavenly, the experience was impactful, Wendee was the most compassionate, kind, thoughtful and passionate host, and well, the horses Yogi, Brioso, and Arteiro were simply magnificent. I'm so thankful for the time spent together. I highly recommend it!

Fantastic for anyone interested in meditation/mindfulness/alternative healing with a heart for animals. I took my sister for her birthday and she adored the horses. Our host Wendee was very gracious and I really enjoyed her guided meditations. Wendee was attentive with a steady, but joyful and encouraging energy. All around awesome time. It was so hard to leave! I could have stayed forever. Wendee also took pictures and emailed them after we left. Very cool. :)

Wendee was an incredibly passionate host who cares deeply for Raike and her animals. That passion is expelled into you once you arrive and her energy continues through the entire experience. While I took away a new found appreciation of the animals, I would say I think this is a bit better for those who may hold some fear toward them versus individuals with a lot of experience with horses. Her attention to detail and personalized touches were incredibly special and this experience was definitely one of a kind. Would go again and recommend if you want to learn more about yourself and your interaction with animals, especially horses.

Amazing! I’ll definitely come back bringing my whole family. I knew it was going to be good that’s why I booked it, but I didn’t know it could be so magical. The farm is at a beautiful location, the horses are fascinating, and the hot chocolate is amazing! I definitely loved the experience and hope to see you again soon!
