What you'll do
In the west of Cuba you will find the sui géneris Vinales Valley, famous for its stunning natural landscapes and traditional methods for the tobacco and coffee growing.
This tour will allow you to know the reasons why the Valley was declared a Natural Heritage Site in 1999. With this purpose, we will drive through the town where you will appreciate the peculiar vernacular architecture of the place, as well as the urban layout that has remained unchanged for more than 200 years. Later, we will visit a thousand-year-old cave system that served as a refuge for Cuban natives since prehistoric times. Then, we will have lunch in a rural restaurant that possesses an exceptional view of the Valley.
Later, we will explore the mythical Valley to observe a landscape that is literally unique in the world… With that aim we will ride sturdy horses for 2.5 hours for visiting different local ecological farms to learn about the traditional methods of growing coffee, honey and the best tobacco in the world. These visits will allow you to interact with locals, support the farmers community and try an authentic Cuban cigar.
Finally, we will have a drink nearby the Prehistory Mural where we will observe a peculiar 120m-long painting on a cliff that was fortuitously (or not) impacted by fragments of a meteorite on 2019...
Other things to note
The ending time of the tour may vary depending on the group dynamic.
