What you'll do

Bike Chicago's Epic Lakefront with a Native Photographer

We will embark on an unforgettable journey biking Chicago's epic lakefront to the most iconic and photogenic sites of the entire city. We will use professional cameras to capture our experience, and I'll teach you about Chicago and photography along the way!

On our grand biking photo journey, we will visit beaches, parks, and some of Chicago's most famous buildings. You will learn about photography anything from novice to advanced techniques as well as how different lenses can be used to capture amazing shots. We will bike up and down the lakefront passing by some of the world's most breathtaking urban landscapes, stopping to capture them as we go. During the tour as your own personal photographer, I will be taking pictures of you in front of the amazing scenery.

After the tour I will share all of the pictures digitally for you and your friends / family to enjoy. With any leftover time, I can be a resource to answer any other questions about Chicago, photography, or editing you may have.

Based on your comfort level, the total distance is roughly 7-13 miles (11-20km). I look forward to riding and capturing the best part of Chicago (The Lakefront) with you!

I was born and raised in Chicago, and have studied and lived all over the world. I speak Spanish Italian and some Mandarin. I am passionate about cultural exchange and helping to expand people's perspective and creativity. Having worked for the tourism board I know a lot about the city and am excited to share its story while helping people better understand photography. Aside from this, I wear a lot of hats! I am an entrepreneur, photographer, videographer, artist, and business consultant. Check out some of my photography on IG @formato102

Cheers ¡Salud!

We had a fantastic time and Eric was a great tour guide, who knows Chicago really well. The bike tour is a great way to see more of Chicago beyond the tourist hotspots and learn more about this fascinating city. We would recommend this trip to other travellers.

We were really looking forward to this experience because of the description providing cameras to guests while we traveled on bicycles to areas we would not have seen otherwise. Unfortunately, we only received half of the expected experience. Eric arrived about 10 minutes after the scheduled time to meet. He gave a brief description of himself and what we were going to be doing. We then walked over to the rental bikes (a coordination between Eric and the rental company) and he released our bikes. These bikes are available to anyone, and must be returned to a designated rack every 45 minutes or so. Our tour was three hours, so we had to stop four times to get new bikes. Now, this was supposed to be a photography tour. When I asked Eric about the cameras he said that he had to ship his gear to Atlanta as he was flying out that day. He did have one Sony camera that we shared. Fortunately, my husband brought his own Nikon camera as there would have been one camera for four people. I think Eric was distracted by the fact he had to catch a flight only two hours after our tour was over. While we did see a lot of the Lakefront we never would have gone to, the overall experience seemed rushed and a little lacking. At one point, Eric was so far ahead of us that we thought the tour was over. We ended up being dropped off at Chinatown, and I had to ask if the tour was over as he dropped the bikes off and made his way to the nearest train. Overall: the cost of the tour compared to the experience was a let down. We did not have cameras or snacks. He did bring water and helped take photos with the one camera we did have. We hope the experience would have been better had he not had to leave hours after. We would have preferred an earlier time or notification ahead of time that there weren't any cameras. The bike ride was cool, but anyone can do that.

I truly truly enjoyed the 3-hour ride. It was epic! Eric was very friendly and flexible in scheduling and planning. He literally knew almost everything about the city, from the history to the neighborhoods. Riding in a beautiful sunny weather to explore Chicago with a local was so much fun, meanwhile, I learned some photography tricks :) Eric is very curious which I think is the key to be successful in everything, so keep up the curiosity and passion! Thanks again for such a superb experience, Eric! Highly recommended. I will definitely come back :)

We would definitely recommend this experience for anyone wanting to experience Chicago through biking and/or photography. Eric had a great personality and lots to share about Chicago!!
