What you'll do
After leaving the harbor, we'll sail for three hours aboard our American long keel, two masts, modern-classic sailing vessel—a Pearson 424—an example of sustainability, balance, and beauty. On board, our guests can participate in handling the boat, learn to sail or improve skills, hoist and trim the sails, and steer the boat. You can also feel free to relax and enjoy the sun and the sea, a huge space of fresh air and silence, and breathtaking views of the city. With the thermal wind blowing along the Spanish coast throughout the year, we'll sail towards the Mediterranean horizon, then tack or jibe and sail back, heading to the coast and to the skyline of Barcelona. Once we leave the harbor, you will be almost immediately surrounded by nature. When the time is right, we will enjoy some drink, Catalan white wine, and some high-quality snacks and tapas (Catalan Country Bread with tomatoes and olive oil, Guacamole with Nachos, Manchego cheese, Fuet (Catalan sausage).
I discovered sailing when I was a child, about 45 years ago. Since then I have been sailing mostly in the Mediterranean and Atlantic. I am a professional skipper with British Maritime and Coastguard Agency/RYA Yachtmaster Offshore title. After developing my own business and teaching at the University of Barcelona, in 2013 with a group of friends I founded the Barcelona Balearics Sailing Association. We realized an old project—to transmit our passion for the sea teaching sailing as a way to provide a goal for kids to stay focused and forge a path in the world, regardless of their income or background. During last summer 2018, 105 young people and adults discovered and practiced sailing and navigation with our Community Sailing activities in collaboration with Caritas.

Where you'll be
We will leave the mooring from Port Olimpic, in front of Barcelona City Centre. Pushed by the thermal wind blowing along the coast throughout the year, we will sail towards the horizon during more than one hour, before tacking or jibing and sailing back to the coast and to the skyline of Barcelona.
