About I, Too Arts Collective

I, Too Arts Collective is a non-profit organization committed to nurturing voices from underrepresented communities in the creative arts. In July 2016, we launched a campaign to lease the Harlem brownstone where Langston Hughes lived and created during the last twenty years of his life. Our hope is to preserve Langston’s legacy and build on it by providing programming for emerging writers.
This is a social impact experience where 100% of what you pay for this experience goes to I, Too Arts Collective. .

What we’ll do

Step into the world of Harlem Renaissance poet Mr. Langston Hughes, and experience the brownstone he purchased and lived in with his family. Upon arrival, we will greet you with a glass of wine and a warm welcome before strolling through the home where you will learn about Hughes’ legacy. You’ll then take part in a poetry workshop taught by a local poet where you will create your own piece. If…

Where you'll be

We will meet on the stoop of the Langston Hughes House, then enter on the first floor and finish on the third floor, where Mr. Hughes wrote and created.
