What you'll do
We will show you the natural world of Northwest Cuba on this educational journey. Our day starts with an easy hike through the lush forests of the Sierra del Rosario Mountains, a designated UNESCO Biosphere Reserve (The length of the hike will depend on your physical ability). Here we will see a diverse selection flora and fauna, including species found only in Cuba. We will then visit an old coffee plant, where we’ll learn about the regional coffee-making process from 200 years ago. Our visit will conclude with a stop for lunch and tour of a local organic farm for a taste of life in the Cuban countryside. If time, you will also take a tour of the town Las Terrazas (this will depend on how long your hike is). Please note if it is raining we may not be able to access the old coffee plant.
Homemade lunch We will provide an organic spread of typical Cuban cuisine.
Private taxi We will arrange transportation for an additional cost of 120 CUC roundtrip for the entire car.
We are Cuban scientists and guides who work at the eco-station of the Sierra del Rosario Reserve. We grew up in the region, and are passionate about protecting the Sierra del Rosario area and teaching others about ecological responsibility. We’re also experts on Cuban wildlife, and will share our perspective as scientists working in the conservation field.
