What you'll do

Who you are is always a more vital teaching and a more powerful transformer of the world than what you say, and more essential even than what you do. Stillness is where creativity and solutions to problems are found. True intelligence operates silently. Ask yourself: Is there joy, ease, and lightness in what I am doing? If there isn't, then time is covering up the present moment and life is perceived as a burden or struggle. We will observe, walk and take in the beauty of Nature. Questions and comments are welcome anytime. We will gather together between walking and individual meditation to discuss our observations. Every person carries the seed of enlightenment within, I often address the knower in you who dwells behind the thinker, the deeper self that immediately recognizes spiritual truth, resonates with it, and gains strength from it. I cannot tell you any spiritual truth that deep within you don't already know. All I can do is remind you of what you have forgotten. You then recognize that you are an emanation of pure consciousness and so you eliminate suffering on the level of cause. You eliminate unconsciousness from the world. You change the world.

Jess

I am a Dispute Resolution professional with a law degree from The Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine University, School of Law. I am also graduate of the Inaugural Class of The Eckhart Tolle School of Awakening, Six-Month Advanced Training to Intensify Presence and Live Your Highest Purpose with Eckhart Tolle, affirming a commitment to living a life of Presence. I study the nature of human unconsciousness and dysfunction as well as its most common behavioral manifestations, from conflict in relationships to warfare between tribes or nations. I draw attention to the conceptual mind and how it always draws us into some form of suffering. Everyone carries the seed of enlightenment within but we do not always feel it because of compulsive thoughts and habitual mind patterns. With practice and awareness we can change.

Where you'll be

We will meet at Ferndell Nature Museum and walk the trail to Griffith Observatory. We will stay rooted in Being, connect with Nature, and transcend the conceptual mind. In this state of Being, you will find that life becomes helpful and flows smoothly. You are then able to observe your thoughts and separate them from your perceptions. You are no longer reactive or controlled by your thoughts or what externally. It take practice to live it.
