What you'll do

COVID-19 advisory: I believe we’ll still be able to operate this summer; although we don’t know about June. We’re asking everyone to bring a face covering for the ferry. Thank you, be safe

Night starts at the Casco bay ferry terminal in Portland Maine, we size you up for bikes and then head for the island. When we are there, we take a scenic roll around the island, on light up LED glow bikes. We also get to roll through Battery Steele; an underground gun battery built by the US military during WWII.. When we get back to the ferry terminal we can have ice cream or a beer before we get back on the boat
Other things to note
All included, bike helmet, rental, ferry ticket. There re some moderate uphills, but bikes have gears and plenty of lights for us to light up Peaks Island!

I am a bicycle tour guide; I specialize in historical tours, but I try and make my rides fun and exciting for my guests. I have a degree in history and I love to show off cool buildings, sites and local draws that people might not find because that is what I value when I'm traveling

Where you'll be

Casco bay on the ferry, Peaks Island is the destination; it is very picturesc, and has lots of beautiful and quirky homes. Lastly; we get to explore battery Steele which is an underground gun battery built during WWII; it has a lot of cool graffiti

The bike tour with Andrew was awesome! I was pleasantly surprised by how much history he taught us about Peaks Island. There were beautiful views and some very cool sights I don’t think we would have found on our own. If you are looking for a fun, off-the-beaten-path excursion I highly recommend this bike tour.

This was a fun introduction to Portland. There were enough little things off (a squeaky bike, uncharged flashlights, didn’t attempt to customize as it said in the description even though there were only two of us, riding a bit far ahead so we couldn’t always hear) that I can’t give it a full 5 stars. However, still got to take in some incredible sunset views and loved that aspect! There are a few hills, especially one right at the end, that make this require some very basic fitness, but for the most part this was a very easy and relaxed ride (and I say that as someone who hasn’t ridden a bike in years). You get a lot of people complimenting you on the lights as you ride by as well, which was fun. A unique experience!

Definitely recommend! Andrew was a great host, he was super responsive to my messages before our experience and a fun host during the ride. It was everything from educational (had no idea Rosie the Riveter was inspired by the women in Portland), thrill (the battery steel), and breathtaking (especially when sunset hits Peaks Island).

My wife and I had a blast on this one of a kind bike ride/historical/ferry ride extravaganza. Andrew was extremely friendly and knowledgeable of the location. He made sure everyone was comfortable despite biking ability. Not to even mention the amazing views. Would highly recommend!
