About the organization: Give a Beat

Give a Beat is a non-profit organization that serves as a catalyst for social change by bridging electronic dance music culture with youth and families impacted by incarceration. Through our DJ workshops and mentorship programs, we offer creative outlets for youth and job creation opportunities for the formerly incarcerated. Music is our inspiration, mode of communication, and conduit for change.

This is a social impact experience where 100% of what you pay for this experience goes to Give a Beat.

Where you'll be

We'll tour the Homeboy Industries facility and then have a Cal-Mexican lunch at the adjoining Homegirl Cafe. Homeboy is located in Chinatown in the heart of downtown Los Angeles.

The tour of Homeboy Industries and Point Blank went beyond all expectations. Lauren is very welcoming and a great conversationalist on top of it all. This was time well spent!

The food (highly recommend the chile relleno grilled cheese), the tour and the dj workshop went beyond my expectations. You can see the passion that of all these industries have individually and the one that brought them all together, is Lauren. If you don't know about mass incarceration, I suggest looking it up. Lauren is working on bringing greater awareness to this subject.
