What you'll do

I meet you on the meeting point and we would visit the most interesting exhibitions in Kyiv galleries. You should be prepared for a lot of different art- we would visit 4 galleries. Wear comfortable shoes - we would walk a lot!

We would visit 4-5 different galleries (according to our route) with contemporary art - watch currently exhibitions, talk about it, communicate to the mediator - discuss the art. As an art-blogger I would tell you some interesting stories about ukrainian art.

While walking we would watch the city and sightseeing on our route, talk about art etc. After all, we would finish our art-tour at the art-bar or cafe to have an opportunite for discussion and conversation.

My name is Dasha Bilenko. I'm Ukrainian art-blogger, independent art-curator, art-manager. I'm interested in art on two levels: professional and personal. I can't divide these two ideas, as I can't imagine my life without art. I’m into all tendencies of the local art scene.
During last 10 years I was dedicating my life to art: as art-journalist, art-guide, art-curator and art-lover. Nowadays I'm working in the Kyiv gallery, keep an art-blog, devote all my free time to art-events, making art-tours for ukrainians and guests from abroad.
I'm an insider of Kyiv art-world, so I know places, persons and opportunities of local art entertainment. I know about everything about what is going on in Kyiv art. And I would like to share all this art-energy with you!

A great tour of a cool part of town where the installations are changing often. Dasha knows alot about the modern Kyiv art scene and was very honest about her thoughts and opinions. It was a lovely afternoon.

Dasha met me in Madan square and showed me to several galleries in the Podil district. She showed me a bit of art, a bit of architecture and inadvertently some of the street art, which is a personal taste of mine. The galleries themselves were a mix of the current exhibitions, which are a matter of personal taste however I found one to be exemplary and I was rather fond of the pieces. In between galleries, there was a sort of street bazaar where there was a vast trove of art work, many copies of popular pieces and original art in sort of an alley gallery intermixed with an assortment of trinkets and such that is ideal for a tourist. Unfortunately, I have at times a moderately domineering aspect in dialogue and feel like if I had talked less and listened more that I would have experienced more of her industry expertise as clearly evidenced on her blog. All in all, it was a pleasant afternoon out with pleasant company and well worth the money when considered relative to wandering around myself.

What a unique and special experience! Communication was clear and easy. We had a tour group of four (max size is 6). We toured five different contemporary art galleries. We learned about established artists and emerging young artists. We walked a lot and finished with lunch outside along the river. Great afternoon! Highly recommend!

I found the art tour offered by Dasha a very interesting experience. Dasha took us to some contemporary ukrainian art galleries where we could see paintings and sculptures by local famous artists. At each gallery we could get interesting information about the paintings and the artists. Dasha is an expert in the art branch and could answer all of our questions so even a person who has no specific knowledge about art they will enjoy the tour because we were not overburdened with information and detailed analysis but just enjoyed seeing some beautiful works of art and learning about their history, background and the artist who made them. Also the sequence of the galleries was excellent with some coffee breaks in between I didnt feel tired during the tour. During the tour someone sees also some of the important sights and landmarks of Kiev. I had a very nice time and I recommend this tour to everyone who would like to get an inside look at the Ukrainian art scene.

Dasha is a professional curator and has a true passion for arts. She will bring you to galleries you wouldn't be able to find on your own and the tour is diversified, like this even if you simply come out of curiosity, there will still be something that retain your interest. You'll find the best advice here on how to organize future visits, connect with artists or participate to vernissage all with a warm welcome and kind attentions.
