What you'll do
We will meet near the trailhead, get to know each other and set off on one of Hawaii's best secret hikes, known and loved by only locals for decades. This hike is tucked away in the Koolau Mountain Range, in a valley between two peaks. Along the way, I will point out native plants/animals, share their meanings and uses both medically and culturally, and share Hawaii's history. We will walk through lush bamboo, eucalyptus, and guava forests, then dense stream vegetation. We will cross a river four time before arriving at our stunning 75 ft three-tier waterfall and go for a swim (3 miles total/ moderate hike/will be using both hands and feet in certain areas). I will immerse you in the History of Hawaii, the battles and Aliʻi that ruled once before, and the landscape that has drastically changed over the last 2,000 years. Not only will I expand your mind, but also your tastes buds. I will bring along all the best local snacks, fresh fruit, and drinks! You will eat like locals while hiking our secret trails. Not to mention, I will take the most breathtaking photos of you, perfectly staged (waterfall, vegetation/forests, and mountains). I will show you spots off the beaten path, with fewer people, and spectacular views! Let's explore Hawaii like locals together!
ALOHA! My name is Hannah. I am fifth generation here in Hawaii, born and raised of course. I love my islands and am here to give you the local tour of Oʻahu's best-kept secrets. My family has lived out here for hundreds of years and I want to share our culture/history, traditions, and favorite spots with you. I work for Blue Planet Foundation, a local non-profit, clearing the path of 100% clean energy here in Hawaiʻi. I am a swimmer, surfing, kitesurfer, hiker, canoe paddler, and jewelry marker. I facilitate outdoor excursion during my free time (mostly weekends and afternoons) as I love to meet new people, get outside, and share the Aloha spirit. Let's explore Hawaiʻi like locals together!
