What you'll do
The tour starts at 11:00am with a nice walk of 25 minutes on a path surrounded by vineyards. You will see in particular one of the most prestigious Châteaux of Saint-Emilion, whose wine is classified “Premier Grand Cru Classé” (First Growth). We will then reach the medieval village, having crossed its ramparts by a gate dating from the 12th century. First step: the workshop of the famous "Macarons de Saint-Emilion", a succulent local biscuit whose recipe has not changed since its creation in 1620! After this sweet appetizer, you will visit one of the most beautiful wine cellars of Saint-Emilion: a captivating place, where barrels and bottles have been stored for more than 150 years. You will enjoy on site an amazing wine tasting! We will then walk in the oldest streets : you can climb to the top of an impressive building dating from the 12th century, offering an incredible view of the surroundings. After that we will join our starting point, to enjoy a delicious picnic: you will taste south west food while enjoying a magnificent view on the vineyards! To finish we will make a last walk to reach an authentic family Château: you will discover its fascinating history, you will visit the impressive wine cellar of the property and you will of course be invited to a delicious wine tasting! To see more about my tours, you can search "Emilion's Tasting Tours" on Maps or Fbk.
As a Saint-Emilion resident, I like to share my knowledge of this fascinating medieval village with visitors from all around the world. I gladly share my good addresses (Châteaux, restaurants etc.) during the visits, as well as the local culture: the work in the vineyards of course, but also the traditional gastronomy of the region!
Picnic with south west food and drinks included.
