What you'll do
We will gather at a local trailhead to go over logistics, answer questions and spend a few minutes getting acquainted. Then we will spend some time being quiet in nature. We will cross a bridge, literally and metaphorically, where you will be invited to do a moment of ceremony to toss your "writing blocks" over the edge. We will continue along the trail to "Sage's tree," where you will receive a guided writing experience while listening to birds—frogs too if we're lucky. :o) After we write, we will circle up again and share our work, at which point you will have an opportunity to receive feedback from me (and the group, if you like). We will return to our starting point, more bonded, more expressed, more alive and more connected to the ground upon which you stand. You will leave as a shamanic writer.
Fresh organic veggies and Homemade organic chocolate (my secret recipe!)
I've been a writer all my life. From keeping a daily diary as a child, to composing songs in my teens and then writing 200 or so columns and articles for Los Angeles-based magazines and newspapers. I've been fortunate to make my living as a writer. People say I am "living the dream." And I guess I am. Part of the dream is my environment. I am blessed to live in the Santa Monica Mountains. My world is at once peace-filled and vibrant with wildlife. Hawks, ravens, owls, coyote and deer all grace the surrounding canyon hillsides. It's a great place to be inspired! Please visit my other experiences: Full Moon Labyrinth Ceremony ~ https://www.airbnb.com/experiences/231692 and Sunset Labyrinth ~ https://www.airbnb.com/experiences/804691 PS I am now certified by the American Red Cross in Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED & First Aid. :-)
Where you'll be
I've been hiking this canyon for over 20 years. We will hike the trail that inspired many of my "Living Well" newspaper columns. On this trail, I have become friends with two particular Oak trees. Each is old and large. We will go to one of those Oaks and do our writing under a canopy of branches. :-)
