What you'll do

I am offering an advanced session to learn the process of creating a coloured borosilicate glass pendant art work.

This is a workshop session for maximum 3 people and lasts 3 to 3.5 hours with a few breaks.

During the session each participant makes minimum two ornaments and often more.. I teach how to blow a glass bubble into a head shape and add a face and hair with coloured glass rod.

Towards the end of the session I will create a several demo pieces to show tricks and techniques. The participant will get to keep the demo pieces as well.

Please note the pieces made need to be annealed in the kiln for 6 hours after the session end so they will not be ready to take home.

I will post them safely or they can be picked up. Can take up to three weeks.

I also issue a little self made named certificate as a memory.

Not suitable for children under 10 years of age.
Under 18's need to be with an adult.

Somewhere in previous reviews it stated ‘ you won’t be disappointed’ and we certainly weren’t. Steph is a skilled artist, professional and imparts her knowledge readily, I would urge anyone who considered this to ‘just do it’.

We have today returned from a brilliant glassblowing experience with Steph. I know people may be concerned about Covid measures but in my opinion you don’t need to be. Social distancing wasn’t an issue and the studio was very well ventilated. Immediately on arrival we were at ease. Steph started off with telling us a little about herself and how she evolved into her craft. Then we shared our very limited craft skills . Steph gave us our first demo , and very soon we were hands on! Do pay attention to the demos as it’s very easy to get excited too soon and miss what Steph was explaining. Stephs’ demo pieces were fabulous and she kindly said we could have these too. Working with extreme heat you need to focus and be aware of the safety required in this environment. I had very little expectation that I would be able to make anything but very soon I’d produced my first piece. My husband turned out to be pretty good and thoroughly enjoyed it too. If you are a novice don’t expect to be coming home with a vase , however you will make some unique pieces and have the most fascinating 3 hours in the world of glass . I will definitely be booking another session I think I may be hooked. 🤗 thank you Steph we look forward to receiving our Kilned pieces in the next few weeks .

Steph was very knowledgeable about the field of glass blowing and sculpting. We learnt how to melt and manipulate the glass to make a variety of sculptures that we get to keep. Was an enjoyable experience.

Our group consisted of a teenager and an OAP. Each one of us thoroughly enjoyed this experience. Steph patiently worked with each of us. She was hugely knowledgable and engaging. We loved the pieces we made. We would highly recommend.
