Hi, Peter and Yvonne here, we are your local guides who wants to share our love for the Swedish nature and outdoor experiences. Take part of the pleasure of being in the nature and how it connects with us, it is the meaning of life itself.

We offer nature experiences based on the key words; trying, learning, living outdoor. You will explore Vättlefjäll nature reserve only 20 minutes from Gothenburg city and learn the art of cooking your own food over an open fire.

The two of us are educated in ecotourism ("responsible travel to natural areas that conserves the environment, sustains the well-being of the local people, and involves interpretation and education" (TIES, 2015)). We have also been certificated in Sustainable Tourism by the GSTC who sets the baseline of standard

Where you'll be

The tour take place in one of the larger open-air recreation areas in the region. In the area there are several medieval farms and the plan are to visit two av them: Björsjöbacka with ancestry from the 1200s and Björsjöbacka where there is animal husbandry today managed by the local people J-O and Daniel. The day ends by visiting a beautiful place with an open fireplace outdoors for making dinner.

What a lovely experience! Peter & Yvonne were just wonderful. They love the outdoors where they live and it shows. I must also add that they went out of their way to accommodate some last minute issues that we had with plans and it was much appreciated. It was so very nice to spend the better part of a day with such great people. I’d have them spend a day with us where we live anytime! A note: This is not s completely passive activity and shouldn’t be. You’ll need to help carry some firewood and provisions, the forest is slightly hilly and can be muddy but it didn’t bother us for a moment. We were even offered boots, a pack and water. If you love the outdoors, this is a great experience if you’re traveling through Sweden.

Yvonne and Peter are a very friendly couple and made me feel welcome. I had an amazing time walking through the woods, picking berries and delicious chanterelles which we later cooked over an open fire, right by a charming lake. Yvonne and Peter also know the area very well and can give you some insights into the history.
