I got this airbnb experience as a birthday gift with my partner, and it was fantastic! We learned so much about chocolate and Ben was great at explaining the process and the history. Really enjoyed making chocolate and being able to take bars home to share with friends and family. We're tempted to get into making our own chocolate!

We have a family tradition that we learn or experience something new the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Ben's Bean to Bar Chocolate experience was a gem. He is truly passionate about making chocolate, knows a lot of details about chocolate, its history and of course how to make it. It takes quite some machinery to make your own chocolate from beans to bar. Normally these machines are industrial strength and size. But Ben invites you to his home and has special small size equipment that allows you to make your own small batch of chocolate. He explains every step and lets you taste the taste, flavor and texture progression along the way. Chocolate making is so much more than mixing a bunch of ingredients and heating it up. There are many steps and variables that differentiate a great bar of chocolate from an OK bar of chocolate. At the end of 2 hours, you leave with your own 2 bars of chocolate, tons of tips for if you want to continue making your own chocolate and memories of a great experience.

My girlfriend and I had the best time! She’s obsessed with chocolate and learned a lot about the bean to bar process. Ben gave is a few pointers on how to further our knowledge and expertise in chocolate by suggesting chocolate stores and even internship opportunities for a career in the chocolate making world. Honestly the best way to spend a Saturday and had lots to take away from our session (including chocolate, of course!)
