We were a group of 4 friends, and our opinion is unanimous: The experience with Dira was unique! He was very accommodating to us and very attentive. We loved the places he introduced us to. We cooked with his wife in his house, it was great and the meal was so good! Beyond discovering unique places, Dira tries to raise people's awareness of ecological issues and we talked a lot with him about the subject, the day was full and full of emotions!

This is long over due. I recommend everyone to go one this all day simple and amazing walk! Learn about the life in this village and how amazing the little things are. We got to have real Balinese food eating Balinese style. It was fun and amazing. All the activities from hiking up the mountain to walking through it, cooking with his wife and baking with his daughter. So much fun. And this description is only the tip of the iceberg. I’ve already recommended / sent this experience to a few of my friends that are traveling to Bali. This is a must do!

This is a tour not to be missed, it is the most authentic natural tour that depicts traditional living in Bali, as well as some stunning views. From start to finish we were absolutely engrossed in all the activities, and there were many. We met Imade at 8am, who drove us to meet our first guide Dira in Klungkung Aan, who took us for a trek up a mountain to see some amazing views of his village and surrounding areas. We sat in the forest and had tea and coffee. My youngest daughter helped Dira pick wild flowers, which he made into a bouquet, the girls were absolutely amazed. The next part of our tour took us through Dira’s village, which he proudly talked about, and then to the local soap factory. Myself and children were fascinated by the whole process of how naturally all the soaps were made. Most of the process is done by hand and there was no hard sell at the end of the tour which was refreshing. As we continued to walk through the village, Dira spoke about the introduction of recycling and educated us on the cultural aspects of village life, which was fascinating. We were greeted by everyone we met, as though we were long lost friends and we sang songs as we walked along. We walked along the river to Secret Warung Resturant, again my youngest and Dira picked wild food for our vegetarian lunch, she loved it, crossing the river back and forth, Dira continuously explaining everything, keeping us well informed, as we went. At the restaurant, the children got involved in making lunch with the help of Dira’s wife and daughter. It was wonderful how involved they got and how excited my daughters were doing the activities. Lunch was marvellous, more than I could have anticipated and better than any other trips we’d had been on in Bali thus far. 🤗 After lunch, we took part in painting the local flowers with Imade, this was the only activity I think could have been better organised, as it didn’t seem equipped adequately and looking at the paints, they were not child friendly, but an enjoyable activity nonetheless. We were then take to the gorge and waterfall by Wyann, once our food had digested. The gorge and waterfall were incredible, it’s so tranquil and relaxing. It’s a small trek through the gorge to the main waterfall, where you can take time to paddle and climb the bridge to look at the beauty all around, you also see other smaller falls along the route. Once back at the restaurant, the girls made puddings with Dira’s daughter, again they thoroughly enjoyed this. The last part of our day we we’re taken to Dira’s home, where we were treated to a traditional balinese dance, which was awesome. 👏🏾 Dira, Imade and Wyaan, we really enjoyed our day with you all. Dira, you were so kind and patient and I cannot thank you enough, especially inviting us to your home and allowing us to be a part of your wonderful family, for the day.

Stay open and you’ll have a good time. For us, this experience did not go as promised, but we still had a wonderful time and highly recommend! We came at 8 am, and expected to stay for the day, as the experience currently lists 8-5:30. There was a great deal of confusion upon arrival - Dira said we didn’t book the full tour because we had our own transport (which it says is available for a separate fee). So he said we would not be painting, and that he would just take us to the waterfall and back because it was a ceremony day. When I explained that I had booked the full experience, we eventually came to an understanding and he offered us the lunch and some further trekking (but no painting). This was all a bit frustrating, HOWEVER! The experience was still incredible!!! The hike through the water and gorge was simply amazing. Dira telling us about the community here and the efforts to clean up and make access to the waterfalls added to it. He is an incredibly kind man and was very patient and sweet with my kids. The waterfall and gorge have unmatched beauty, and I am SO incredibly grateful that we got to see it all before all the instagrammers find it. We were the only ones there! So peaceful and magical there. Then Dira took us to his home and his wife made us one of our favorite meals from the whole trip. We got to watch the kids practice their Barong dance for the ceremony. It was all very special! After lunch, he did offer to take us for more trekking through the village, but we had already decided as a family to let him stay and enjoy the special day with his family and extended family who had come in for the ceremony. So our day ended before noon and we didn’t get the full experience, but still it was so worth it and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! Just be open and I think you will be pleasantly surprised and glad you went!

This was one of our best experiences so far in Bali. It was very authentic and we saw SO much in a day! The driver and the host were both going out of their way to educate and show us different cultures. The tour is also to educate tourists how important it is to maintain the culture and environment. I highly recommend this experience, but be aware that it is an intense physical day, with a lot of activities and walking and climbing up steps:) so worth it, especially the mountain hike and the walk to in the forest to the secret waterfall. Gorgeous.
