What you'll do
Starting at $100/person (see Group Rates)
Captain Andrew awaits at the marina dressed in full pirate regalia. He will welcome you aboard the longboat, Pilgrim, to venture out to the anchorage where Mayflower is moored. Mayflower is a Brigantine Ketch made entirely of teak in the true buccaneer fashion! Once settled aboard, we will make way and set sail through the harbor and beyond! Our course will take us the length of the harbor, passing historic places, interesting boats and celebrity homes along the way. Once out of the harbor, we will visit the sea lions before making our way down the coast towards Crystal Cove, enjoying the wind and the waves on the open waters and potentially seeing more marine mammals along the way!
Upon returning to the harbor, we will douse sail and return Mayflower to her mooring, where we will once again board the Long Boat and return to the marina to disembark.
*Each sail can accommodate up to 6 passengers
**All passengers and crew are required to wear face masks
Please note that the current price reflects a switch to all Private Bookings, which means that once you book, we will make that sail unavailable to other passengers.

Sailing is my passion, my life and my career! I caught the sailing bug at the age of eleven and have been at it ever since! I grew up in the Sea Scouts program, raced for my High School's Sailing Team all four years of school, and taught sailing (even directed the sailing program) for ten years before completing my captain's license and starting my own sailing excursion business. I love being on the water and sharing that experience with others!

I've spent the last 18 years working in restaurants and coffee shops, but sailing captured my heart and now I can't give it up! Captain Andrew taught me everything I know, and will soon be sending me to get my Captain's License so I can continue sharing my newfound love of being out on the water.

Where you'll be
Aboard Mayflower there is a large amount of open deck-space to lounge and enjoy the sunshine and sea breeze. There is also a protected pilothouse inside which you can enjoy the view but don't have to be out in the elements. Below decks Mayflower is equipped with a full galley (kitchen) and two heads (restrooms). She also has many interesting nooks and crannies full of fine craftsmanship and nautical equipment to appreciate and learn about!

This was a beautiful experience. Andrew was sure to give us all the details before the trip so we could have what we needed before setting sail. He was patient as we adjusted to our sea legs and was happy to share how the different parts of the boat/rigging work. We also got to see a lot of sea lions and even a pod of dolphins! It was a great experience that was well-captained and one I would definitely repeat!

Definitely one of the coolest boats you can sail on. The classic sailing ship/pirate ship aesthetic is truly unique, so much so that you'll note other sailors taking pictures of you. Staff is friendly, conversational(if desired), and competent.
Don't make my mistake and underestimate your potential for sea sickness. Just take the full dose of dramamine and get some sun and sea.
