About your host

I’m an urban adventurer, full of curiosity, and the co-founder of TreckTreck. I lead our exploration in East Tokyo and connect travelers to unique neighborhoods. I’m also a storyteller of Rakugo, the art of traditional Japanese comedic storytelling. The Fukagawa area, with its waterways, has been the stage of many Rakugo stories for over 400 years. I will introduce our town with these fun stories.

What we’ll do

We’ll start at the Fukagawa waterway to see the new and old symbols of Tokyo beside the creeks, and get in touch with neighborhoods in this area. I’ll share this area's history, the daily life in these neighborhoods, and the route we’ll take. Then we’re off to the river. As I'm a Rakugo (Japanese sit-down comedy) specialist, I can tell you stories of Rakugo related to the creeks. We’ll go under…
