What you'll do
Located just a few minutes south of Downtown San Diego, the Chula Vista Bayfront is the best kept secret in the region. Protected by the National Wildlife Refuge Chula Vista’s Wildlife was voted 5th in the Nation by the National Wildlife Federation in 2019. This truly is a bird and eco lovers paradise, it’s quiet, serene and peaceful especially in the mornings when the water is calm and flat.
No experience is needed, Before you board your kayak i’ll briefly go over paddling techniques, safety instructions, and best practices to make sure everyone is comfortable and confident when we’re on the water
While kayaking be sure to keep an eye out for pelicans, blue herons. Snowy egret, Cormorants, various geese, and endangered species like Green Sea Turtles and the California Least Tern. If you’re lucky you might even get to see the Local Flamingo aka Ferny.
After we’re done with our tour of the San Diego Bay , we’ll head back to shore where I collect all life vests and equipment and send all photos taken of guests to them.
Other things to note
From about 12pm-2pm it can get windy at the park so bringing a jacket or sweater if you come at that time is always a good plan.

We started our second day in San Diego on a morning paddle with Michael. What an amazing experience! It was a beautiful day, the water was calm, and we were the only boats in sight. Michael led us to excellent spots for viewing wildlife in and out of the water - we even saw baby stingrays! He also had fantastic suggestions for places to see and restaurants to try. Michael took pictures of us on our paddle and sent them to me before we left. We will definitely sign up for this experience again when we’re back in San Diego!

Michael is super laid back and really fun to get to know and talk to! He knows some good food spots to hit so definitely ask his opinion for local eats. It wasn’t quite a tour, we set off into the bay on our own, but it was a lot of fun. We went in the morning when there was no boats and the bay was quieter so that was nice.

It is not so much of an experience but is really just a basic kayak rental. Michael does give some basic tips on how to kayak and navigate the water but other than that I was out on my own kayaking. I was expecting a guided kayak experience per the description however I still had a fabulous time because I can go with the flow.

I had a super great experience with my girlfriend. Michael greeted us with muffins, water, and complimentary flip flops before he gave us instructions on how to kayak in the water. Keep in mind we did reserve a spot for 8:30am to 9:30am, so the muffins might be just a breakfast thing. Michael made us feel at home and comfortable with the whole experience, making sure we knew exactly what to do before we set off in the water. Michael made sure everything was going right, and made sure we felt comfortable throughout our whole experience. Even taking the time out of his day to make sure he took pictures of us kayaking, so we could have this memory forever. After our kayaking experience was done, Michael helped us get out of the water, then offered us more food and water while also making conversation with us to make sure everything went okay. After we chatted with Michael for a bit, he sent us our pictures and even recommended us great tourist attractions we could visit after he heard we were visiting from out of town. Ultimately our experience was great! I definitely recommend to anyone looking into paddle boarding, or kayaking in the SD area, as Michael is a genuine person with the BEST prices around! You won’t regret spending a dime at this experience! Thank you Michael!
