What you'll do

The running tours offered are meant as an (e) motional exploration of the Venetian maze, thus becoming a discovery hunt of some of the most beautiful - but yet hidden - spots of the island. Depending on the health and physical requirements of the participants, the route chosen will be adjusted in order to assure that the experience is tailored to suit specific needs. The tour designed will include such emblematic spots as Saint Mark‘s Square, the Arsenale and the Salute Church while furthermore encompassing those less known places like San Pietro di Castello or the Ghetto district. The route offered shall accordingly consider specific points of attraction dear to the respective runner(s) in order to respond to historical, cultural or artistic interests. During the run, taking pictures of the scenographic setting will be encouraged, becoming a souvenir of wholly unique kind. Furthermore, insight into the everyday life in Venice shall be provided, bearing on the experiences of an anthropologist who over the course of the years spent in ‚La Serenissima‘ has equally fallen in love with arts and architecture.

Sandra Verena

A passionate runner for many years, it was in Venice that I‘d discover the true delight of speed when losing myself in the labyrinthine structure of the city, the narrow passageways and alleys that alternate with campi and fondamentas - a unique experience enhanced by the surrounding beauty of the Venetian architectural setting. Over the course of time, I had the chance to thus explore ‚La Serenissima‘, gradually mastering the maze while still coming across new angles and corners as the city seems to abide by an infinite number of vistas that recall the marvel of the bold idea of erecting a city suspended on water. Accordingly, I would love to share my passion for running about „my Venice“, a Venice perceived through the lens of an art historian and anthropologist who beyond theoretical reasoning has preserved a hands-on approach.
