I have been working or playing in the outdoors all my life. I grew up surfing in Virginia Beach and the Outer Banks as a kid. As a teenager I worked for the Virginia Beach Lifesaving Service as an oceanfront lifeguard, which gave me basic first aid and safety skills and cultivated a deep awareness, respect and understanding of the ocean.

After high school I started my surfing travels and have since surfed Puerto Rico, Mexico, Panama, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Spain, Morocco, Portugal, the Canary Islands, Australia, Indonesia, Barbados and Canada.

Very relaxing. Herman was a really nice guy and my husband and I felt very comfortable. The weather was perfect and we learned some interesting things about the local wildlife.

Great calming paddle. We saw turtles, cormorant, and a swimming crab. Herman our guide was very knowledgeable about the ecosystem and told fun animal encounter stories.

Great kayak tour for beginners. We saw many painted turtles, a water snake and a cormorant. Lovely foliage. Some tight spots due to downed trees. Herman was very helpful and patient.

This was a great experience. I’ve kayaked plenty of times and have my own kayaks as well. This tour they take you on is quiet and peaceful. Great for families with kids or beginners. We were hoping to see more wildlife... but they weren’t out. Maybe they were resting as it was late morning.

Scott was our tour guide. He was enthusiastic and friendly. He took time with our group and made an effort to engage with our 5 kids. He was also REALLY patient with our novice kayakers. We would definitely recommend this experience for any OBX adventurers!
