What you'll do

We start the tour above Fløybanen station in the center. At Skansen. (White building with a tower)
Then we follow the beautiful (Fjellveien) road for 10 minutes, and start a 30 minutes walk in the woods up along a water fall. Finishing that one we are up in the area where we meet the tracking roads. We continue for about 15 minutes and will be able to see Bergen and the surrounding.
NOTE! In winter season (October-March) we will walk a different route up to the mountain.
Here we will take a break and taste som typical food that this part of Norway is known for.
Like wild salmon, local cheese (that won the World Cheese Awards 2019), and ham from this part of Norway.
After this break we continue to another part of the mountain, mainly flat. And the view is fantastic. Than we go down to Fløyen and enjoy the view. After that we can choose 2 different roads down to Bergen and the start point.
I will also tell you about Bergen, the history and how we live today.
Distance: 8 km. (5 mile)
If you are alone, no problem. I also do this hiking tour for one person.
The weather in Bergen can be "everything" so if its rain and foggy the route may be adjusted at short notice.
Other things to note
The weather can change quickly so if its rain and foggy we will adjust the route. Family or group of 4 + send me a message before your booking, i will give a discount.

I was born in Bergen close to the mountain above Bergen city.
This mountains is a recreation area for the people in Bergen. And there are plenty of hiking tracks/roads you can choose.
After 50 years in this mountains i have my favorite for sure. And i would love to show you some of this lovely part of Bergen.
Last 10-15 years i have work as a tour leader in Italy, so i know how to make my clients happy. This tour will take about 3 hours (2,5 in winter), and the good thing is that the track starts just after 2 minutes walk.
I promise you a spectacular view over Bergen and the surrounding. And we will have some typical delicious food from this area. Something uniq.

Anbefales 👍

It was a very nice walk up to the top of Floyen. Frank is a very open person, so it’s easy to communicate and find interesting topics of talk about. Local food didn’t disappoint - delicious products in nice location in the mountains. I also learned more about Bergen while observing city from the above. I do recommend this experience for everyone enjoying nature, nice talk and learning about Bergen

Our hike with Frank was a ton of fun. We worked our way up the mountain on both public paths and wooded trails. Frank did a gread job pacing the trip to our energy level and comfort with the footing (it had snowed a few days earlier and some of the potential trails were icy so he found alternative routes). At the mid-point of our journey we stopped for classic Bergen snack (wild salmon, moose sausage, great cheese and coffee) at a hut near a lake at the top of the mountain. We came away from our hike with a feeling of accomplishment, a better understanding of the history of Bergen, and photos of a few jaw-dropping views.

Frank was a great guide and even greater company on this excursion! Despite rather extreme weather conditions (rain and freezing wind!) he managed to make me experience a truly Bergen-style trek around Mount Fløyen. Felt very Norwegian for two hours and a half. Special shoutout to the incredible wild salmon tasting in front of a frozen lake - definitely recommend this tour!

Frank's experience was the best possible choice we could make while in Bergen! He was very nice and had a lot of interesting stories about Bergen to share with us. We wouldn't be able to go the places he took us all by ourselves and Frank was always very patient with my non-existing hiking experience. He even brought us some amazing and tasty local food. I loved trying the local flavors of Norway! Thank you very much, Frank. This was really an unforgettable day and experience in my life. I highly recommend this day activity for everyone who visits Bergen, because everybody is capable to keep up the pace and you'll never forget the views you get during this time.
