What you'll do
On a ferryboat we follow the tracks of sailors and dockers. I will introduce you to the hard dockers life around 1900. Feel the wind in your hair down the Elbe River. Passing 130 years of urban architecture we brave wind and weather moving on the river like many of dockers still do daily to reach work. Feel like a true Hamburger:) And for sure ships, ships, ships: from barge to super cargo. We are boarding at historical "Landungsbrücken". Make your own Titanic selfie;) Passing "St. Pauli fish market" with "Art nouveau fish auction hall" our first stop is "Docklands" with best panorama view from the 46m roof top. Along Elbe shore you'll see rich shipowners and spice traders estates. On our way back we leave the boat to visit "Övelgönne", a museum harbour with lighthouse ship and other historical boats. We have a little walk along old captain houses to the only true beach of Hamburg "Strandperle" with a view to "Alter Schwede". THIS IS THE OFFICIAL END OF THE TOUR! The ferry brings you back to Landungsbrücken or you can take the bus 112 to Altona station. Please read all the information below!
Volker (Mr. Sir!)
Due to my work I traveled to countless locations across the globe. Coming home for me is the greatest:) You can feel it, when listening to me. I'm offering strong impressions, interesting stories and intense feelings. That's why we love our city! Less numbers, dates, facts. Feel the wind in your hair, listen to some sailors yarn and visit the most beautiful places at Elbe beach. Hamburg does not have either a queen nor a castle. But since 830 years an impressive harbor which I know from early age.
during winter time you'll get a tea with rum and brown candies
We will spend round about one hour on board of one or two ferryboats. You need a public traffic ticket (HVV). As a tourist…
