About LivelyHoods

LivelyHoods Kenya is a non-profit social enterprise that creates training and livelihoods opportunities for disadvantaged youth and women in urban slums. LivelyHoods trains youth and women in sales, marketing, and communication skills, and provides them with the products and support for them to thrive as sales agent of life-changing clean-energy products such as cookstoves.
This is a social impact experience where 100% of what you pay for this experience goes to LivelyHoods. .

What we’ll do

For one day, join a thriving not-for-profit that provides unique training and livelihood opportunities to disadvantaged youth and women in urban slums in Kenya. You’ll dive into the heart of an informal settlement, where the real Nairobi comes to life amid colourful street vendors, animals roaming the streets, and the most innovative forms of just getting by. You'll be walking through a bustling Kenyan slum, so dress comfortably & modestly & avoid carrying valuables (you can leave them in the office). Bring sunscreen, umbrella, an open mind & curiosity!

Where you'll be

You'll be in the country's second largest slum, Kawangware, Nairobi, with a population of 800,000. Here you'll take part in a unique challenge, working hand-in-hand with locals to bring life-changing products to their communities. If you need help arranging transport, let us know and we'd be happy to help organise transport for this experience or for your whole trip! Please note, the first hour will be at our HQ, in our daily training meeting.
