What you'll do

This experience is a mindful and sacred adventure to explore your inner and outer worlds using nature as a resource. Come with a question and your curious mind! This is intended for people who want to experience for themselves how powerful, healing and wise nature can be.

This adventure is intended with the following objectives in mind:
1) Managing stress and building resilience
2) Deepening connection with one’s self and with nature
3) Exploring and appreciating the natural beauty of this area

We will begin with a brief welcome and orientation to point out restroom facilities, as well as what to be mindful of.

We will walk to a gathering point where we will begin with short introductions and intentions. I will facilitate a centering practice.

Each participant will take a 30 minute solo journey and observe the experience.
After the walk, we will
1) create nature art
2) process this journey either in diads/as a group
3) have solo reflective time

We will end with a sweet closing ceremony.

Please note:
We will be practicing physical distancing and will be wearing face masks.
I will provide hand sanitizer.
If you are not feeling well that day, please stay home and we can look for another day when you are feeling better.

Happy to customize this for special occasions or requests. Examples include honoring birthdays, life transitions and celebrations.
Other things to note
There is likely spotty cell reception once you get to the park. If you need to reach me, please do so by an hour before the event starts. Cell is 206-724-1081. There are bathrooms in the Redwood Bowl picnic area. Let me know if you have any dietary restrictions so I can plan accordingly.

With 17 years of experience as a life designer, executive coach, facilitator and speaker, I have inspired and empowered people to live their lives at work and at home more sustainably and authentically. I have my certifications in ecotherapy, coaching, and art facilitation.

In 2003, I received an award from Secretary Colin Powell for my work in the US Foreign Service coaching 350 US Embassy employees and family members through a 198-day evacuation. During my decade working at the Gates Foundation, I had the opportunity to infuse nature in many team building events and became the expert at managing chaos and creating more flow for busy executives.

One of my passions is to guide more people on how to turn to nature as a resource for wisdom, healing and inner peace. "If you want to understand everything, turn towards nature." - Einstein

A most amazing and unique experience, not only walking in the redwood forest, but totally being aware of all your senses whilst walking into the forest, connecting and communicating with nature, the trees, the smells, the foliage. Beautifully guided by Joy through her deep knowledge, understanding and compassion for nature, life, and creation. not to be missed, a true individual perspective on how you feel and see nature. heightening your senses and being inspired to give permission to your inner creative expression. heart and soul opening. highly recommended and the best choice ever after a long haul flight from London. I felt like dancing with the trees and nature. Stunning scenery.

My husband and I were in San Francisco for our honeymoon and thought this would be a wonderful experience for us. We enjoyed our mini hike in the red woods and Joy was a very nice and found us a cute spot for us to sit and talk and create beautiful nature art. The scenery was beautiful!! She bought us snacks and even gave us some cool spots to eat at after. Highly recommend booking with Joy on this fun nature adventure.

We worked with Joy to do a team building activity for our team retreat, and I must say it was perfect. She led us to a beautiful grove of trees and through some great exercises which connected us to each other and to nature. Joy has a very calm and friendly energy and is very grounded, which adds to the feeling of relaxation and connection. She's a joy (heh!) to work with and I highly recommend her experience.
