What you'll do

Meet me downtown at the bike container on the North side of 3rd St between Colorado and Congress. I'll make sure your bike fits and that you know how to use them. We'll go over safe braking, shifting gears, our route and both the formal and informal rules of the road.

Then, we'll set out in search of Austin's bountiful outdoor artistic, natural and cultural offerings.

We'll bike at a chill pace from iconic spot to spot, never more than a couple miles at a time before stopping to learn something new and take photos.

Along the way you'll get to see many of Austin's most famous landmarks as well as take a deeper dive into a local's eye view of Austin's food truck parks, breweries, murals, hidden gems and best of nature!

You'll end up where you started with time to rest and refresh yourself before dinner.

Other things to note
The full route is about 12 miles. There are a few hills. There will be options along the way to abbreviate or extend based on how you feel and what you want to see. Overall be ready for three hours of moderate activity.

I'm a native Texan, professional tour guide and avid cyclist! I've worked as a taxi driver and bicycle messenger for years and know Austin's streets better than anyone! I'm bootstrapping a travel company that takes student groups to Cuba and I've led many of those groups. Ages ago I lived and worked as a mountain bike guide in Antigua, Guatemala. I've also led tours in California and Panama.

My husband and I have visited Austin a couple times previously but this trip we wanted to see Austin from a bike. Ryan’s Austin Art & Nature bike tour was awesome. We thoroughly enjoyed the ride, felt safe and learned interesting facts about the city along the way!

We had a great riding experience! Ryan provided lots of insight about the city and pointed out some of his local favorites. The three hour ride went by quick! It was a good mix of cruising speed and some uphills that will work up an appetite! We had a ton of fun and felt safe the entire time when riding through city streets. Highly recommend this tour of Austin with Ryan!

The bike tour with Ryan was a fantastic way to start off our trip to Austin. We got to see so much of the city in a short amount of time. Ryan is a really personable, easy going guy and told us tons of info about the city and gave some great recommendations for our stay. The bikes were very easy to ride and we had no problems finding the shop. I would highly recommend this tour if your are in Austin.
