About your host

I am a historian and writer who was born and raised in Melbourne. I also wrote and performed comedy for many years, so I like to entertain as well as inform. I am passionate about my town - its fascinating history and its diverse people. In fact, I love Melbourne so much I'm currently writing a historical novel about it! I want to share some of the fascinating tales I've discovered about this…

What we’ll do

Do you know the story of the Blue Lagoon which once lay to Melbourne's west? Or where the phrase 'Buckley's chance' comes from? Do you know the fate of Tunnerminnerwait and Maulboyheenner? Or what it was like to arrive on a boat at the height of the gold rush? Do you know what Ned Kelly's last words actually were? (Hint: not ‘Such is Life’.) Or the real hero of the Burke & Wills story?…
