What you'll do

Join me, a professional Chef and Sommelier for a vegan cooking class!
Being also Sommelier, I’ll match your dishes with the best wine. I’ll put at your disposal my home a few steps from St. Peter's and Vatican, sharing my passion for good food and good wine. I'll host in my well-tended garden with barbecue, from which you can admire the sky of Rome. If the weather is inclement, we'll be inside in the dining room!
I’ll show you how to prepare 2 of the most important types of homemade pasta and 2 vegan sauces typical of Roman and Italian cuisine that will season your pasta. You won’t use modern pasta making machines! In fact I’ll show you the most ancient way of making homemade pasta, as my grandmother taught me, using the classic wooden pastry and the classic wooden rolling pin. You’ll have to use just your hands to create these delicacies and I’ll be in front of you for helping you.
In the end we will eat your creations together!
Besides, I'll give you a lot of tips about roman restaurants and how to avoid the tourists traps.
This experience is adaptable even for non-vegans.
Other things to note
I'll supply the aprons and everything you need for the class.
Contact me if you can't find an available date, I'll try to accommodate you!

My name is Alessandro but all my friends call me Tony! Cookery has always been my passion. I learned to prepare homemade pasta and the typical roman dishes with my grandmother and my mother. I graduated from law school, I worked like lawyer, but cousine continued to be a part of me and infact I decide to change completely my life: I graduated Chef and I worked at Marriott Hotel and I took the diploma of Sommelier at Hilton Hotel. Now I have my own business of Personal and Private Chef.
In addition, I have been organizing culinary experiences for tourists (dinners and classes) for 5 years.

We really enjoyed Alessandro's vegan cooking class. Alessandro warmly welcomed us into his home, and was very friendly and passionate about home cooking. We learned how to make two delicious vegan pasta dishes from scratch, while hearing interesting stories about how he got into cooking/wine professionally. The class was very informative and hands on - we are ready to make some vegan ravioli at home! After we made the pasta, we sat down for dinner with some delicious wine followed by a surprise dessert and Alessandro's homemade limoncello. The best limoncello we've ever tasted! Would recommend to anyone spending a few days in Rome, vegan or not.

This was an amazing experience. Alessandro was fantastic, friendly, and accommodating. I happened to be the only person who signed up for this date/experience, and as a relatively shy person, I was wonderfully surprised at how comfortable Alessandro made my experience. He was informative, friendly, and welcoming through the entire experience. Not only did he share his knowledge of cooking with me, but he opened his home to me and made me feel welcomed the whole time. I was able to do every step of the cooking with his lead, and he shared information about not only recipes but the history of how his family taught him, showed me his herb garden, told me about local markets, and shared information about the area, plus so much more. His wonderful girlfriend was also very kind and courteous and even bought me the *three* train and bus tickets needed to get back to the place I was staying. I highly recommend this experience!! And, if you are not vegan, I still recommend this experience! It was the tastiest meal I had in Rome (and everything I ate in Rome was DELICIOUS). Alessandro also has other experience, so if you aren’t interested in vegan food, I recommend any experience with him because he is a great teacher and a kind & wonderful person. Absolutely a highlight of my entire trip through Europe. Thanks, Alessandro!

Wonderful cooking class for vegans! We made two different pasta dishes and Alessandro had the recipes printed up so we could make them at home too. Dishes were delicious! He also took some great photos of us cooking that we could keep to remember the cooking class. Highly recommend!

We had a great experience with Alessandro, sharing personal stories and methods from his family and training made the evening extremely unique! He was also very accommodating in scheduling our last minute class with him with a vegan menu.

This was such a great experience from the greeting at steps of his home to closing the door to the taxi after. It was a true sense of family and learning of everything Rome! I learned so much to take home and share with my family and bring them back to experience too!

This cooking class has been one of the highlights of our trip to Rome. My niece is vegetarian and to find a cooking class that was both authentically Roman and vegetarian was perfect. Alessandro was the perfect host and a very good teacher. All of us are scratch home cooks and he taught us several techniques that were new to us. The food we all prepared was excellent and we brought home our leftovers to our Airbnb flat. I would highly recommend this cooking class to vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike. So, so worth it. A great experience we’re going to be talking about for a long time to come.
