What you'll do

Our Nature Connection Adventures are designed for folks seeking a unique outdoor experience in our beautiful mountain town. . We’ll begin by exploring our house and yard, which we are transforming into a permaculture paradise. We will then explore the San Bernardino national forest on trails that begin right outside of our door (only locals know about this trail). During our adventure we’ll take in the stunning views from those trails and get up close and personal with the native wild life. We're all about customizing our experiences to the wants and needs of our guests and the amazing changing seasons on our mountain. I have extensive knowledge of the plants and animals we are likely to encounter and will be happy to share that knowledge with you and/or to quietly take in the natural beauty we will encounter on our nature saunter. I have also been teaching Tai Chi for over 20 years and will be happy to offer an introductory lesson as part of your experience.

As a child, I loved playing in nature. My love of nature and of sharing my discoveries with others lead me to get a PhD in science education at UCB. After many years as an indoor educator (Including being a public school teacher, professor, and Education Director at NeXT Inc. reporting directly to Steve Jobs), I moved to The Farm (founded by Stephen and Inna May Gaskin), an intentional community in TN, and for 15 years took children and families on nature adventures both as a teacher at, and principal of, The Farm School and as Day Program Director of the Kids to the Country program. Since moving to Idyllwild, I've been leading nature experiences with children and families taking in the stunning views and amazing wildlife inhabiting our hills. As the late great sage, Jerry Garcia used to say, "what a long strange trip it's been.
