What you'll do
We will begin the experience with a short tour through historic landmarks of Santa Fe. I will share some of the history of flamenco in the area and New Mexico. We will then head to a flamenco performance at El Flamenco, where you will be treated to Spanish tapas (appetizers). Details: We will meet at the St. Francis Cathedral Park where we’ll encounter monuments to the 1598 Spanish settlers and talk about some of the things that they brought to New Mexico, considered one of the earliest permanent European settlements. From here we will head to the Historic La Fonda Hotel where I will share it’s importance (and other early flamenco venues) in the history of the flamenco scene of New Mexico. We’ll then make our way through the plaza toward the New Mexico Museum of Art to visit the St. Francis Auditorium where in 1963 one of the very first Flamenco performances took place. Finally, we will arrive at El Flamenco to see a performance by EntreFlamenco company. Shows are known for offering sold out, high octane flamenco with artists direct from Spain that are paired with restaurant service which offers a Spanish Tapas and spirits menu. Your evening will include tapas-Charcuterie and Spanish tortilla. You can purchase additional drinks, etc on site.
