What you'll do

Immerse yourself in Philadelphia's unique sticker art scene via a 1.5-hour walking tour through the beautiful Queen Village neighborhood! You'll learn about the origins and traditions of the sticker art culture and see a variety of hand-drawn stickers by Philly artists.

By definition, street art is ephemeral, so there's always an element of improvisation to my tours! But I know all the spots along our route where art tends to accumulate. I'll guide you through a mix of street art hot spots and permanent or semi-permanent installations, interpreting everything we see along the way. The focus will be on stickers, but we'll also see murals, wheatpastes, installations, and graffiti, which all have overlaps with the world of sticker art.

This tour covers a lot of art in a small geographic area, and there isn't time to talk in depth about everything, so I will be happy to tailor our stops to your specific street art interests!

We'll conclude our walk in front of Tattooed Mom, Philadelphia's unofficial museum of street art! You're welcome to go in and explore on your own; just know that this location is 21+ in the evenings.

Ever since I first saw a sticker on the back of a street sign, I’ve been completely fascinated by Philadelphia's street art. I began photographing it in 2015, and quickly came to appreciate the amazing diversity and traditions of Philly street artists. In 2017, I become a content contributor to StreetsDept.com (a popular Philly blog about art in the public space) where I now have a monthly interview series that explores why and how street artists create their work. Come join me in discovering Philly’s character-driven, hand-drawn, cut-out sticker tradition (plus a bunch of other street art). I'll show you a ton of fresh artwork and tell you the stories behind it!

Where you'll be

We'll meet at 4th & Catharine. After checking out a cluster of stickers and a unique installation nearby, we'll explore a well-hidden alcove full of mosaics and graffiti and discuss the latest street art we find on the way to our endpoint, Tattooed Mom. There's a reason it's known as the official street art museum of Philly, and you'll see why!

The tour was dope! I appreciate it because I wouldn't have known much about the hidden gems if it wasn't for this tour. I appreciate his perspective and knowledge on the different art forms. I definitely recommend.

Take this walk with Eric! He gave us a new appreciation for street art, not only in Philadelphia, but in future visits to other cities. Philly is full of talented artists making their mark in the most unique ways in hidden parts of the city.
