Yasu is one of a kind. She is so warm and welcoming, and her home is comfortable and inviting. You can get to her home by walking through a temple, which is what we did, and would highly recommend the walk from the nearby train station (about 25 minutes away) if you have the time.
Yasu is a great teacher and conversationalist--my wife and I felt like Yasu was genuinely interested in our lives, which made talking to her feel like we were catching up with an old friend. Not to mention, of course, that she is a wonderful cook. She taught us how to make several simple, healthy, yet delicious dishes that I will definitely incorporate into my weekly meals.
Yasu is simply amazing. She knew that we had to get back into town by a certain time, so she went above and beyond to make sure that I would make it by personally giving us a ride to the train station in her own car. Amazingly, though she was conscientious of the time we had to leave, she never rushed the class or the experience.
