Spectacular sunset and full moon hike

Phoenix, United States

Experience hosted by Paul

90 mins
Includes equipment
Up to 10 people
Hosted in English

What you'll do

We’ll meet up at a lightly traveled trailhead in a quiet North Phoenix neighborhood about a half hour before sundown.
From there, we’ll hike a little less than a mile to a scenic, quiet perch where we’ll watch a spectacular Arizona sunset.
Along the way, I’ll point out some cool tidbits about desert plants and animals.
A little later we’ll witness a magnificent full moon rise from the eastern skyline.
With the moon lighting our path, we’ll return to the starting point and say our goodbyes.
This entire, unforgettable experience lasts a total of about 90 minutes.
If you need tips for a cool place nearby for dinner or drinks, I can give you a local’s take.
Other things to note
32nd Street comes to a dead end about a mile south of the SR51 freeway. You can park in one of the five spaces designated for parking or on the street in the neighborhood.

Since moving to Arizona in 2012 I’ve logged hundreds of miles on hiking trails and byways. After one particular hike to the falls of Havasupai in the Grand Canyon, I became obsessed with exploring the many natural wonders of Arizona.

Now I love sharing some of my most fascinating discoveries with others.

Where you'll be

We’ll start out on a nice, gentle trail. Depending on your fitness ability and interest, we’ll continue on a moderately graded trail or hike up a steeper one, if you’re up for it. Steeper = better views.
I’ve built in time for a few breaks to rest or take pics.

Great hike with our teenage kids! We all had a blast. Our group did the more aggressive of the three options Paul gives and it was a great hike with the best views from the top. So glad to have such a knowledgeable guide, highly recommend!

Paul was very friendly and knowledgeable! we had ages 6 through 58 and we all we able to keep up and enjoy! There were 3 options for climbs and we voted middle of the road! It was not rushed or overly challenging. The view was amazing. Beautiful!!!! It was wonderful having a guide so we could just focus on taking it all in! Thanks again Paul! Thank you for the memories!

Paul went above and beyond with us experience. This is my first Airbnb experience and I plan on doing more after this! He was so courteous to the group and made sure we all felt safe during the hike. He gave us a lot of knowledge on the area, the wildlife, and the history of Arizona. I feel like he should be charging more for this experience because it was an amazing experience! I met some pretty great people while we were doing this hike.

This was a fantastic hike. Only a few miles with some climbing on the way up. Great first hike in AZ and not too strenuous. Paul is really knowledgeable about the area and gave us great advice for hiking safe in the desert. We had a nice small group and it was fun getting to know everyone. Also, there aren’t restrooms at the trailhead but Paul kindly waited while I drove to nearby McDonalds to use the restroom. I would definitely recommend this hike.
