What you'll do

Do you want to learn more about bees first-hand? Join us on the Bee-ginning Beekeeping Class to take a peek inside of one of our suburban beehives! On this tour, we'll open a hive and see how bees live - collecting and storing pollen and nectar, raising their young, and if we're very lucky, we may even see the queen bee! Master Beekeeper, Kendal Sager, will talk about how bees create honey and beeswax as well as how it is harvested for use in some of our favorite products. Whether you're a gardener, nature lover, or just want to get outside on the weekends, you'll be fascinated by the way these little insects work together.

We'll start out the class by discussing bee basics and talking about what we expect to see inside of the hives. For the next hour of the class, we'll suit up and inspect a backyard beehive. We'll conclude the class by tasting local bay area honey and discussing how honey gets its unique flavors.

Highly recommend this experience with Kendal! This experience was absolutely amazing and so unique. Kendal was extremely friendly, knowledgable, and truly passionate about bees and sharing her knowledge and experiences with us. Her home and property were an absolute blast - we got to hang out with her 2 sheep in addition to the bees. This experience brought me an entirely new perspective about bees and taught me so much I didn't know. DO THIS EXPERIENCE! And you get to taste some of the most unbelievable honey you've ever had.

I loved Kendall's class! I've always wanted to try a beekeeping course and learn about the amazing creatures. The best part was seeing her passion and enthusiasm, it was really infectious. I was dropping unsolicited bee facts for weeks after this :)

Exceeded expectations. Kendal was friendly and knowledgeable and her backyard is well set up, super cute, and she had several hives and all the gear. Would do this again with visitors.

We took this experience for a team offsite, and it was a great alternative to normal team offsite activities! We learned so much about bees and beekeeping, and got to taste some delicious honey. Kendal was very knowledgeable about beekeeping and diligent in making sure everyone felt comfortable around the bees. Thanks Kendal!

It was a great experience and the team had a great time in Kendal's place. She gave a very thorough introduction and Q&A for bee keeping and she's pretty knowledgable. The honey she made is really great by the way!
