What you'll do

Join our group experience as we sail around Baltimore Harbor and the Patapsco river (can be booked as a private experience as well). Do as much, or as little as you like. Take the helm, hoist and trim the sails, tack, jibe, or just sit back and enjoy the ride. We'll leave from Tindeco Wharf and sail out into the harbor. From there, we decide to sail toward the inner harbor or out past Fort McHenry, into the Patpsco river toward the Key bridge.
This is a great opportunity to get more sailing time and develop your sailing skills under the watchful eye of a US Sailing Master Instructor Trainer. Never sailed before? No problem, during our time we'll teach you as much as you want.
Just get away from it all on a relaxing sail? That not a problem either. Bring snacks and beverages to enjoy and just take in the breeze and enjoy the sights and sounds of sailing.

I am the founder and director of SeaAffinity, Inc, a Baltimore based non-profit that combines my two passions of sailing and helping people learn. My wife, Suzanne, and I learned to sail over 20 years ago, on small boats. Since then, we have owned and sailed close to 50 different boats of all sizes in the Chesapeake and the Caribbean, and delivered sailboats on the east coast.
I am certified as a US Sailing Instructor, Instructor Trainer, and Master Instructor Trainer, and a member of US Sailing's National Faculty, the group that develops and writes US Sailing's training materials.

About the organization: SeaAffinity, Inc

SeaAffinity uses sailing and water related experiences to challenge youth and adults, including those impacted by disabilities, to develop life skills and realize their potential. Our focus is teaching STEM skills (math and science) to intercity middle school kids through partnerships with community organizations. Where you'll be

We start our experience in the Canton area of Baltimore, adjacent to the Canton Waterfront Park and the Korean War Memorial, just across the harbor from historic Fort McHenry. You'll be sailing in the vicinity of the historic liberty ship, the John S. Brown as well as the modern ships. You'll see the industrial side of Baltimore's harbor as well Domino Sugar, Under Armor's headquarters, and even Baltimore's own Statue of Liberty!

What a lovely evening. Steve and his wife made us feel safe from the moment we stepped on the boat until the moment we docked. It was great to see baltimore from a different view. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

A wonderful afternoon of sailing. Steve did a wonderful job crafting a memorable experience for each of his guests. Some members of the group wanted more of a low-key sail - sitting aft with offered blankets. Myself, I wanted to be hands on and involved raising the main, tacking and jibing, and learning as much as I could about sailing. Very insightful and knowledgeable. I look forward to sailing aboard Sea Affinity again.

Our experience on the bay was great! Steve and Suzanne were both incredibly knowledgeable and encouraging in our little mini-introduction to sailing. They were able teachers and we both felt comfortable both chatting and asking questions about their boat, organization and being on the water. We were treated to beautiful views and a peaceful sail around the bay. Looking forward to connecting with them again in the spring!

Went the “extra mile” to insure my wife and I were comfortable and enjoyed ourselves. Also very prompt with questions before we arrived. Well worth the money! Highly recommended. Will be sailing with them again.

Truly a great experience. Both Steve and Susan where very knowledgeable and answered all our questions in a manner easily understood. Wish we lived close enough to have them as instructors for our future sailing certifications! Take the experience! You won’t regret it.
