What you'll do

First stop is our meet-up spot where we will schmooze for a few minutes. Meet a Scribe Visit with a Chassidic scribe where you will see the masterful creation of various religious artifacts and a firsthand glimpse into the creation of holy Judaica. See various shofars, grogger, megilla, kiddush cups and other Jewish ceremonial and holiday artifacts. Synagogue Visit For thousands of years the Jewish people have been gathering together to pray or daven in Yiddish. Discover the fascinating ancient ideas, etiquette, customs and traditions that have been passed down over thousands of years. Visit a Kosher Bakery, Deli & Kosher Supermarket Chicken soup with knaidelach, challah, rugelach, kosher pickles and gefilte fish are all staples of the Kosher diet. Yes, and of course matzo ball soup. Oy. I'm getting hungry! Taste some delicious rugelach while we learn more about what Kosher means, what some of these traditional foods signify and the customs behind them. If you've seen the hit Netflix show Shtisel, you might be wondering how accurate it is. There's no better time to discuss it than over a some fresh rugelach.

Learn more about Chaim

Chaim

Hi, I'm Chaim. Since I can remember, I've had a passion for sharing Judaism and this unique, usually closed community. I've been blessed to have taught in Ukraine (when it was still the USSR!), for the US Air Force in Germany and in Israel. I'm fluent in Hebrew, Russian and my favorite, Yiddish. I was raised in a Hasidic home in Miami, graduated from Yeshiva and come from a long line of Hasidic Rabbis. On Sundays and when my schedule permits -I've had an ad agency here in LA for 18 years - I'd be thrilled to take you on a behind the scenes tour of LA's Hasidic community.

What's included
