What you'll do

Don't see your desired date available? Please contact us +52 951 470 0848! We will do our best to make special arrangements for you!

Wake up early, and will meet us at 6:30 AM in Oaxaca City!

We will drive 1:20hrs to the town of Roaguia, were a delicious local breakfast will be waiting for us. Then, 5 minutes drive will get us to amazing Hierve el Agua.

Once we arrive at Hierve el Agua, we will explain the stories behind this Natural Wonder, and we will have sufficient time to enjoy this paradise. Wonder around, take panoramic pictures, relax, swim... and we will then begin the 5km hike down the valley until we reach another Natural Wonder, a beautiful waterfall who's name we choose to keep secret.

The 5km hike is through rough terrain, mostly downhill (70%). We highly recommend using your favorite hiking shoes, but sneakers are OK too. We don't recommend using sandals.

When we arrive to the beautiful waterfall, our Van will be waiting for us there with refreshing drinks. You will have the opportunity to swim at this amazing spot, which will feel so amazingly fresh after the 2 hour hike.

After the swim, a local woman from the town will meet us to offer a us a healthy and traditional food.

Next stop: we visit an authentic Mezcal Palenque where develope the mezcal process and includes tasting.

This experience was amazing! Yesi had a ton of knowledge and a lot of personal stories. The first part of the hike is the hardest, once you make it past that it’s mostly downhill. Once you finish the hike you’ll get to swim in one of the most beautiful locations I’ve ever seen. This was one of our favorite days is Oaxaca and we would definitely do it again!

Beautiful experience! Jesi was an amazing tour guide and was clearly very passionate about everything she spoke about. Would definitely book again with Coyote Aventuras.

Incredible experience. The day starts early, but it's worth it -- we drove about an hour and a half to Hierve el Agua, where we kicked things off with a delicious homemade breakfast. After breakfast we made it to the upper pools, which at the early hour were still completely empty (they plan it so you beat all the tourist buses coming from the city center). We explored for about 45 minutes and then began our hike. We made a few amazing stops -- at one, we got to climb up to the base of a petrified waterfall and see/feel the running water that is constantly calcifying in the petrification process. The trip was perfectly paced and thought out -- parts of the hike were tiring in the sun and tricky with rocky downhill terrain, but our guides were total pros and had planned plenty of water and snack breaks (including one to yummy ice cream/fruit stands in the market). The hike culminated at a beautiful waterfall where we swam and sunbathed, and then made our way to a pagoda where we had a delicious homemade lunch and drinks. On our way back into the city, we stopped at a mezcal distillery to learn about the process and taste 15-20 (!) mezcals. Initially debated signing up since it's a bit more pricey than the other Hiervé el Agua tours, but it was completely worth it. Couldn't recommend enough!

Given the heat, time of day and time of year, the hike was definitely way more challenging than what I expected. I am an athletic person who had already spent several weeks in Oaxaca acclimating to the heat and so this was fine with me personally - I enjoyed it! - but I can imagine the experience being too rigorous for some people. It is def not a nature walk ;) All in all, I had an amazing time and would sign up again if I could!

Such an amazing experience! Jessi was an excellent tour guide and it truly was something you could not do on your own. The hike is extremely strenuous, unlike what the description says, so be prepared. It is not for the faint of heart. Overall a magical time!

This was a wonderful tour from beginning to end, Yese was our host and she was fantastic. I recommend you go you won’t be disappointed. Swim in both places at the beginning and the end they were both magical. The food was a great experience being at a families home and eating traditional food. Even though I don’t like Mescal it was interesting to see how it was made.
