What you'll do

This is a 3 hour relaxed walk through the forest to enjoy a peaceful time with Nature.
We will depart around 10 am from the meeting point (Flores do Cabo restaurant) and walk to Adro Nunes, an old dolmen located 420m above the sea level with a panoramic view of Cape Roca and the western coast of Lisbon. We will continue our walk to Peninha Sanctuary. On our way up we'll appreciate magnificent views of Guincho and Cascais. We will avoid the main road and use trails in the middle of the forest.

This is a mindfulness walk of full communion with Nature. The sound of trees, birds and the ocean is all we will hear. We will stop in several viewpoints to take landscape pictures. We'll come back around 1.30 pm. There is the option of having lunch in a typical restaurant in the village of Penedo or at a restaurant near the beach (you choose).

We invite you to collect any plastic you notice during the walk. We want to make sure that we keep our forest clean :)

This walk is suitable for all ages. It can be adapted to families with children under 12.

If you are not staying nearby, please send us a message we can organise a pick up from Sintra or Cascais train station.

Hi, I am Rita a nature and sports lover. After living 8 years in London I've moved back to Lisbon to be closer to friends, family and the beach :)
I love to run and do functional training outside either on the beach or in Sintra woods. I studied Nutrition and Sports and love to motivate people to move!!!
Sometimes training inside a gym can be boring, my goal is to bring people outside to enjoy Nature. I'd be delighted to take you on a walk inside Sintra Forest to explore the hidden viewpoints of this magic place.

Where you'll be

We will avoid main roads and walk on trails of Sintra Forest that are better to do with someone who knows the area.

We will visit Adro Nunes, an old dolmen located 420m above the sea level with a panoramic view of Cape Roca and the western coast of Lisbon.

We will continue our walk to Peninha Sanctuary, a closed chapel, located on the top of the hill therefore with a magnificent view from Lisbon to Cascais.

I had a wonderful time on this walk with Rita! I was able to experience beautiful places that I wouldn't have been able to find on my own and had a great time connecting to nature. Rita is very sweet and caring and also provided suggestions of additional things to do and see in the area. Thank you!

This was a wonderful experience walking with Rita through the magical forests of Sintra! The walk took us through the forest, a stone dolmen, and a lookout point over the ocean. This was one of the highlights of my trip to Portufal, and I found Rita to be warm, flexible, and energetic. Would definitely recommend this experience to anyone who wants to get into nature, get aways from crowded tourist stops, and see another perspective of Sintra.

The forest walk with Rita was truly a wonderful experience. The hike itself is stunning and a great way to experience the natural beauty of Sintra. Rita is also a really great guide - she is very passionate about the outdoors and was able to share a lot of valuable insight into the region and Portugal at large. We highly recommend the hike to anyone hoping to be enchanted by the forest and sea views and learn from a local.

Rita is a brilliant guide, who knows the area and pointed out easily missed landmarks. She is empathetic and made what could easily have been a tiring experience, a very enjoyable one. I recommend her wholeheartedly to everyone, especially couch potatoes like me

Rita was amazing! You have to book a hike with her! She is extremely knowledgeable about the region and passionate about sharing this with others. She was accommodating even though the weather was not cooperating and went out of her way to ensure I got a fantastic experience regardless. I am a solo traveller through Portugal and am so happy I booked this experience with Rita.
