What you'll do

Did you know that 'Oklahoma' was the 'Hamilton' of 1943?

This unforgettable tour will take you back in time to learn the history of Broadway and its theaters. I will show you the most important sights that have shaped the history of musical theater in the past 120 years while you fall in love with the theater district, its architecture, history, and people.

We'll start at the Nederlander Theater and make our way up north to Times Square and Palace Theater where vaudeville and musicals were born in the 1900s.

Follow me on IG to see the shows I've recently seen: @BroadwayByAndres

Other things to note
Be ready to walk! Also come prepared with questions and an open mind. I am an open book and I want to share my passion with you. This tour is great for groups, great for teams, and great for team-building activities and I can quiz and test your knowledge at the end of the tour.

Prior to your tour, check out my IG: @BroadwayByAndres and feel free to ask about the shows I've seen or for recommendations (when they come back!)

I love Broadway! I have seen over 300 Broadway shows in the past 13 years in all 41 Broadway theaters and have become an expert on all things Broadway (behind the scenes and on stage). I served as an associate board member of the New York Musical Theater Festival and was a licensed NYC Tour Guide as well.

I currently work full-time in finance with the end goal of producing Broadway shows. My passion for Broadway is immense and I enjoy sharing it with others.

This tour can be tailored for complete Broadway newbies or for experts who believe they know it all!

Where you'll be

Times Square can be overwhelming, but this tour will make you fall in love with its rich history and incredible energy. We will walk along the theater district (including 42nd Street) where I will show you the theaters, what has been renovated, what has been torn down, & what is hidden behind other buildings!

What an absolute treat to have booked this tour, which surpassed our expectations! Whether you're a broadway fan or not, Andres gives great justice to Broadway's history. He carefully tailors his spiels and stops to the interests and backgrounds of each group. He supplements the tour with historical photos, personal experiences, and even architectural renderings of future projects in the area. His passion for Broadway is so infectious and genuine - he even went out of his way to recommend possible shows for us given the many cancellations we experienced. This tour is not just for Broadway fans. It's for anyone that wants to deepen their experience beyond just watching a show or two. Cannot recommend this tour enough as Andres is such a gem and an incredible tour guide!

Andres offers great background information on Broadway Shows and their history through entertaining stories. You can really feel his enthusiasm. Can 100% recommend. Make sure you come dressed very warm if you do this tour in NYC winter (and wind!).

We had a group from all over and he answered everyone’s questions and make it interesting for people with varying ages and knowledge of Broadway. Would highly recommend- the only thing I would have changed is the weather as it was cold, but he has no control over that.

As a first time NYC visitor, this tour was a great introduction to Broadway and NYC. Andres knows all kinds of interesting things about the theaters, current and past shows, NYC in general, and he was super interesting. I'd recommend this tour to anyone going to NYC, especially for those going to see a show. Andres was an excellent guide with a clear voice and I had no trouble hearing and understanding him, even on loud NYC sidewalks.
