What you'll do

Take in the lively scene and buy seafood to make rice bowls

We'll start at the new Toyosu—the world's largest fish market. We'll then go to the outer area known as the Tsukiji old market and Tsukiji Uogashi, a new building with fish-selling areas, including a background area that is off-limits to ordinary tourists. We'll drop in for fish while experiencing the authentic and dynamic atmosphere of a wholesale market. After taking some shopping time at the outer area, we'll purchase a variety of fish and head to Asakusa. We'll visit the popular Buddhist Sensō-ji temple before we go to my shop to prepare Kaisekistyle lunch--Traditional Japanese Cuisine--, Kaisen Donburi—sashimi rice bowls—with fresh seafood and more. After our meal, we'll have some surprise treats. Please note that the markets are lively and changing each day. Please arrive on time and be aware that the experience can run over time.

We run a small cafe restaurant and cycling shop in Asakusa, where we have long held "Fish Days" for our customers. We have a special connection to the wholesaler at the old Tsukiji market, and New Toyosu market where we go to buy fish for this event and our tour last 15years.
We can escort you to special place at the Markets and you can eat special [Kaiseki style] lunch cooked licensed cook at our restaurant.

Where you'll be

We'll meet at Shijo-Mae Station, on the Yurikamome Line, and go to Toyosu, the new market. We'll then visit Tsukiji, the old outer market and walk around the fish-selling area. Afterwards, we'll take the subway to Asakusa to visit the Sensō-ji Buddhist temple and go to my shop, where we'll transform the fish into sashimi.

Toshi was fantastic - very attentive and put so much effort into making the day special regardless of the ongoing corona virus situation. The lunch made by his wife was beyond delicious, and he taught me so much about Japanese culture and etiquette. The cycling was such a great way to enjoy the city! Highly recommend!

We had such a wonderful experience in this tour! Toshi san is a super host who welcomed us very warmly, escorted to many places and introduced so many things with his deep knowledge of fish market and Tokyo city. At the end of the tour he and his wife Hiro san offered a decent Japanese style lunch, which was just amazingly delicious! So friendly atmosphere during the whole tour, and it’s surely gonna be a special experience that you wouldn’t have by yourself. I definitely recommend this trip!

This is an absolutely fantastic experience! I would thoroughly recommend it. Unfortunately due to the virus, we couldn't do exactly what was described, but instead it got even better! and Toshi took us on a small cycling tour of some beautiful cheery blossoms at his secret garden. Toshi was the consummate host, welcoming, polite and funny. His enthusiasm was endearing and infectious. The food was amazing and it being my birthday, he made it extra special. Thank you so much. x

Toshi was a wonderful host. He clearly described all the directions for how to get there. Every step of the way he would take the time to explain what was happening next. Toshi and his wife were welcoming and the meal they served was delicious and we'll accompanied. The trip was well worth it.

Had a wonderful time on this tour. Toshi knows a lot about the seafood market and gave lots of good insight which I wouldn't have understood otherwise. We also walked thru the many seafood stalls and got a glimpse of how tuna is cut up and also how raw fish is prepared for sushi (we ended up eating it for lunch). The food his wife cooked up was excellent, very creative and I could have imagined a better meal.
